The finishing point was at the RAF museum at Cosford, which is a 10-15 minute walk from where I live, so me and the family went out to watch the bikes enter after their initial ride out.
Wow.
We
were sat there by the roadside for at least 40 minutes, every conceivable kind of motorcycle went past, from scooters to quads, trikes to race reps, sidecars to choppers, trail bikes to hearses (yep, a motorcycle hearse), old, new, shiny, scraped, bikes bikes bikes! There
were so many going past that when they stopped moving for a second I felt queasy!
Last year's event saw apparently 5000 bikes, I can certainly picture it!
Of all the days to leave my phone in the house!!!
I didn't go to the actual event, the kids
were hot and tired and we had to go and lay flowers on my wife's late father's grave, but judging from the amount of bikes it will have raised an inordinate amount for the Air Ambulance.
