Re: 1299s or 1199R
In fairness D it's a gearbox recall. I don't think people ever accepted using a gearbox on the edge of going pop and calling it character.D41 wrote:Sooooo.....what's the general consensus on that?? I'm tending towards people getting more 'fickle'...everything has to be 'perfect'...opposed to the 'good old days' where you just accepted stuff as it was and made the best of it.
I don't think quality control/development has gone backwards.

Still got a xenon timing light and a dwell meter somewhere amongst the junk in my garage. Points and distributor were terrible compared to modern CDI.

Ref the OP, deffo the 1199R, my gauge on Ducati's is wait 20-30yrs and see which one is most desirable, and it's nearly always the pita one with "character" that makes it.
Let's be honest if we were talking Paso or 888 we all know which one we'd have.

Just a bit of info, Blade but the new place in Stoke- DMC will allow you to take their demo bikes out for the full day. Its affiliated to Ducati Manchester so i guess their rules are the same.

I think the R will hold on to its value more but will be harder to sell. Also mileage will come into it people buying them wont want decent mileage on it. The 1299s will easier to sell and the mileage wont matter as much.
"80mph" sorry officer I possibly could not have done that I'm no Valentino Rossi.
