Würth lube- a daft question!

The instructions say for best results apply to a warm chain. Easy enough 99% of the time, you just apply after a ride but what do you do when you've cleaned the chain and it has no lube left on it? Would you ride it for 10 mins to warm it up even though there's no lube on it of just apply it cold?

Apply it cold. It will work its way into the chain.

I thought that was the point of applying it to a warm chain? #confused lol.

If it's warm it'll work in quicker because the metal will have expanded and that gives you a bit more space. If you've got a decent lube (which you have) it'll seep in even when it's cold but it'll take longer. Once you use the bike the lube will get spread about anyway.

I always do the chain last when I'm cleaning a bike so I've never worried about the chain being hot cold warm or room temp :)

Cheers Kwacky. I was starting to wonder if I should go and get the Mrs' hairdryer out (shake)

Yep I usually do mine cold as well as I relube when washed! Personally haven't seen any difference and I use cheap Hanford's wax, I prefer the Muc Off dry lube but it's so dam expensive I just don't have the willingness to spend out as much as that [SMILING FACE WITH OPEN MOUTH AND SMILING EYES]
