Re: Stoner back on a Ducati
he's probably returning it as there's something he doesn't like about it.

Re: Stoner back on a Ducati
Interesting they had him out on last years bike rather than testing this years. Now they have changed it so he rides against the team riders. Sounds like they are interested in benchmarking him against the current crop. I'll be very surprised if he doesn't do a GP race sometime through the year.

Me too, he maybe the greatest rider of all time for all I know but to me he's just a whinging spoilt selfish t@wt. His folks give up everything and move everything half way across the world and gives up just because some one doesn't believe in his talent or what ever crock of sh!te he came up with I can't remember.Perkles wrote:I hope he does and I really hope he gets his arse kicked
Actually I take that back, he should stick to fishing. Very fast fishing!

Re: Stoner back on a Ducati
He would struggle on the current grid, I think it would take at least half a season to get back to his top form , if he had the heart and hunger for it .

Re: Stoner back on a Ducati
He would definitely struggle but there's no doubting his ability. He was the only one that could tame the Ducati when it was at it's worst and that to me is highly impressive. The same bike he won a world title on, Valentino Rossi cried about.
Nowadays it's Rossi that whinges all the time so it'd be nice to see some competition in that area !!

Apparently he's on track tomorrow with everyone so it will be very interesting. I see Scott Redding is already going well on his Ducati.

Stoner is quick and he's got the determination to make sure he's up to pace pretty quickly.
I can imagine Rossi would have a meltdown if he had to deal with both Marquez and Stoner.

Re: Stoner back on a Ducati
I've always found Stoner to be a miserable fecker off the track but a fantastic rider on it. Him and Rossi have needled each other over the years and I reckon Rossi had the upper hand. But Rossi for me cracked last season and part of me hopes Stoner has seen that and wants some revenge.
With Marquez chipping in we could see an old school on and off track rivalry like the Mansell/Prost/Senna days.
How good would that be?

Re: Stoner back on a Ducati
That's exactly what I'm hoping for Kwacky.. a good proper rivalry.
I don't know how many years Rossi has in him though so it may be short lived, maybe Marquez vs Stoner if Stoner comes back for good though !!

Re: Stoner back on a Ducati
Stoner is just sitting on the fence ,either make a proper come back and put your cock on the line or bugger off back to Aus

I sense an undertone of discontent in your posts PerklesPerkles wrote:Stoner is just sitting on the fence ,either make a proper come back and put your cock on the line or bugger off back to Aus
Personally I don't blame him the way he's going about it. Still getting to thrash top level bikes about and doesn't have to deal with the full GP circus.
Being an Aussie I would jump at the chance to take the piss out of him ( it's the Trans-Tasman thing to do!) but I have full respect for how he got where he did. It's a heap harder to get into the world circuit from down our way (National racing is pretty lean compared to Europe too) and requires a large degree of talent and commitment to attempt.
I do hope we see him in a race sometime soon.

Stoner was asked "Does being so fast in the test make you want to see how fast you are in a race?" Answer: "No."
