Re: Gaming thread
So I started playing Death Stranding.
I've only played it for a couple of hours. Well, I've had it on for a couple of hours but I've actually only played it for less than half of that, I reckon. There are a lot of cutscenes as you get introduced to everything, which makes it more like a movie. I haven't progressed very far, and I'll be honest for the first hour I didn't have a clue what was going on.
The game comes from the mind of Hideo Kojima, who was responsible for the Metal Gear series of games. I played a couple way back when, and there are definite hints of his style in both games, it's almost nostalgic.
And it's very pretty. Not just the Incredible landscape either. The facial capture is incredible, the actors used are instantly recognisable.
And the game seems to be a mix of exploration, completing tasks, combat and also seems to have psychological horror elements with the enemies known as BTs, which you can sense but not see (although sometimes you can) and I'll be honest, it's a little creepy.
I'm getting into it though, but I reckon it will be a long time before I'm near finishing.

This game is the main reason I built the gaming PC when we went into lockdown, can't wait to try it on the VR headset.

HAHA, not quite. The VR headset is "Stand Alone" and can run without the PC.

He tied to that team now. It's like a full time job. He'll have to attend training sessions and online meetings. He will be part of a team playing national and international games and competitions. Most of their games are televised live. He'll also have to do promo stuff and keep his own social media accounts updated.

That’s incredible, that would be my sons dream job. Unfortunately I have to manage and restrict his gaming time as it has a marked effect on his behaviour.Kwacky wrote:He tied to that team now. I'm playing a lot of COD Mobile at the minute and I'm ranked quite high. I should probably try the championship next season and see how it goes.
