No point in making her sit a retest
If this scammer is disqualified (as well as a custodial sentance) what deterent is there in making her do a retest? Formaility for her I would suspect..
On a more serious note, I would be interested to know how many others are out there who have not actually taken a test but paid someone to take it for them.

At least we know she'll pass it
Another reason for compulsory retesting IMO

Retesting won't happen. That route has already been explored.Kwacky wrote:At least we know she'll pass it

I was looking forward to failing a few of the idiots under that scheme (I was asked along with other advanced examiners if I/we would become re-test examiners)
That ship sailed a long time ago and is not due to re-enter port anytime soon.

Vote loserKwacky wrote:What were the main reasons for rejecting it?
It was discussed for quite a long time and current advanced examiners like myself were asked to step in because the DSA could not cope with the additional work load even though it would not have been applied retrospectively.
Then someone in the Civil Service quietly pointed out that all new drivers were voters, and whatever Government brought in the change, this would probably result in that party losing votes big time at the following general election.
So the idea very quickly and quietly got shelved and then dropped.
I sit on a number of road safety committees and I have asked if this idea is likely to be re-visited anytime in the future? and I have been stunned by the deafening silence and then a resounding "No"

That doesn't surprise me.
I guess there's no point reviewing it now as driverless cars will in place before they could implement a test renewal system.

I must admit that does make me laugh how did a 50 year old pass for a 30 year old!! But on the serious note we need retesting, the amount of muppets out on our roads are rising and they all believe they are invincible which is a joke. We need radical changes in my opinion

Too many people pass their tests and then think theirs is a licence to do what they want....they don't adhere to what they just spent weeks, if not months, learning how to do.

That's why Bikers generally make better road users, we never stop wanting to learn. For the vast majority of car drivers it's just about getting from A to B.

Well....we have to be...you can't fall off a car.
Our lives depend on being competent riders, it's as simple as that. And "You can't truly love life without risking it"...or some other whimsical nonsense..../

Re: No point in making her sit a retest
I feel there is a big difference in a biker and a bike rider. Some treat it like a car, and have no interest in further education or improvement. Driving in to the airport earlier in the week had a guy on a 675R, his chicken strips covered more of the tyre than the wear strip. He was sitting bolt upright with dead straight locked arms and was in no safety gear other than a helmet. And until he passed us he was 1 foot off the back of the car at 80 kms constantly cycling the throttle. He wasn't a biker, he was a tool.Monty wrote:That's why Bikers generally make better road users, we never stop wanting to learn. It's either in your blood, or it's not...It's as simple as that. It's falling off and not being able to wait until you can get back on.
Er....in some cases with a plastic tube ziptied to the frame to hold your walking stick.
R'tard.
