To get more houses on the development I guess.kiwikrasher wrote:Looks good Blade, but why do they build them so damn close together!
The shot in OP looks a little worse than it is. Here's a few doors down.
One good thing is we are not over looked on the back as it's trees and a field full of horse''s. Plus the plot is south facing at the rear so good for sunshine if we ever get any

There's a spot reserved in the garage for a Ducati you will be glad to hear Duke

This may have something to do with it.kiwikrasher wrote:Looks good Blade, but why do they build them so damn close together!
Quick Google search reveals:
UK Population Density = 414 people per km2
AUS Population Density = 2.8 people per km2
Plenty of room in the UK for immigration though
There planning on building 225,000 new homes in Manchester alone. Very topical at the moment as land grabbing lots of green belt land to accommodate the ambitious building plans.
One new garden village (Government BS name) in our borough has plans for 2500 new homes but no new schools or public services or infrastructure like roads. Just build houses and nothing else

Those figures are a bit misleading though as 90% of Australia's land mass is uninhabitable compared to 30% of the UK.
But new developments in Sydney are just as close, and totally understand the reasons.

I guess our money would go further privately Kiwi but it's the convenience of a new home that sold us plus we like the modern layout across 3 floors. The kids have the top floor with their own lounge and we have down stairs with a buffer floor in between so plenty of room to give everyone their own space and everyone even has their own bathroom so should be very few clashes if any.......hopefully anyway

225,000 homes just in Manchester??
Are you sure about that Blade....that figure is SOOO out of the ballpark in sheer construction terms it's beyond scope.
You have a link or sommit, mate??

Yep, we've spent the last 30 years not building enough houses, and now we're blaming immigration

Re: What do you want to vent about today?
Never mentioned number of houses in relation to immigration, just population density per km2.Monty wrote:Yep, we've spent the last 30 years not building enough houses, and now we're blaming immigration
UK Population Density = 414 people per km2
AUS Population Density = 2.8 people per km2
But you raise a valid point if we haven't built enough homes for 30 years and the population density is growing excessively high then perhaps the problem of an increasing UK population is worse than first envisaged.

To be fair, I sit on several UK Govenment and Scottish Assembly steering committees and they don't agree with me either!StMarks wrote:Sorry Monty, I still can't agree with you.Monty wrote:Yep, we've spent the last 30 years not building enough houses, and now we're blaming immigration

Worst case I can turn them off and replace with some LED security lights with pir sensor. Have to see when I get in tbh.
In fairness there only there as I insisted on street lighting. Originally there was nothing planned. I got mine and 4 neighbours done otherwise there would be nothing but darkness.
Any pics of the new house matey? I love looking at houses
Bit pokey but not bad for a starter home
Seriously though, looks great. Enjoy it

It's a stunning house Blade no doubt! Sounds very well thought out but I'd expect nothing less from youBlade wrote:I guess our money would go further privately Kiwi but it's the convenience of a new home that sold us plus we like the modern layout across 3 floors. That looks lovely. Plenty of space thats for sure.
I only saw the size of the garage for the first few mins
It should be worth all the hassle in the end.

That's a cracking pad dude, I see a lot of new builds and the last majority are hotel rooms with mortgages. That's something else, very jealous!
