Yeah, I was only a kid/teen in the 80s, but I loved Whistle Test and all those shows.

Whatever happened, eh? Now it's all Strictly and cooking shows. Sigh.

Piracy for music has dropped since more music was made available online. There's still a lot of money to be made in the business.

Partly, sure. But the Beeb shows were surely never dependent on record sales? They were artist showcases.

Some of us still buy music.

I am very late here. I think like Cav I don't know what he was like etc but I did know his hits, and knew he was a go getter and did change his appearance a lot!!

RIP to be honest if you look at artists, actors and actresses now we can safely say they are throw away performers. Meaning they get one hit and we forget all about them, I think the days of real musician's are long gone and he was a real musician as his music is still playing now.
