Isn't it the case he can call a GE off his own bat without having to consult his own Party?
His ego might well decide that 'let the voters decide'.

Nobody in Tory HQ listened to those who really knew what he was like, did they?

With Boris doing his utmost to create a constitutional crisis, rumours of the Cons' party changing the rules so that he can be removed involuntarily, and the queen's health looking increasingly frail,,,,Monty wrote:I'm going to enjoy this, but let's not forget there's far worse than Johnson lurking around the back rooms of the current Tory party.

I'd rather have a stable, compassionate, functioning UK government, but I'll take whatever I can get.StMarks wrote:With Boris doing his utmost to create a constitutional crisis, rumours of the Cons' party changing the rules so that he can be removed involuntarily, and the queen's health looking increasingly frail,,,,Monty wrote:I'm going to enjoy this, but let's not forget there's far worse than Johnson lurking around the back rooms of the current Tory party.

LOL.^^
I suspect that Mogg will still bide his time, rather than take leadership and inherit the shitstorm that our country is facing in the coming years.
Imo he'll want to wait to be seen as the leader in times that can be billed as "improving".
Dominic is going to be punching well above his weight, isn't he. -Having said that, it's a stretch to see any candidates who are up to the role. Heaven help us if the Con' party chooses someone like Davis.

Johnson seems to have forgotten that leave means leave
People are still resigning by the way. We're over 60

Re: The Daily Post Election Politics Thread
They'll be wanting to distance themselves from Johnson before the leadership elections.
It'll be interesting to see which way the Tory party goes n now. More of the same or a John Major type

Re: The Daily Post Election Politics Thread
I think Starmer has just committed political suicide.
He's sacked a Shadow transport minster for being on a picket line.
If labour don't stand for workers trusts what do they stand for? The LibDems are more to the left than the current labour party.

He's a disaster for that party at the moment. Unelectable - even when the tories are such arseholes.Kwacky wrote:I think Starmer has just committed political suicide.
