They don't advertise it, but Aviva will give you a discount if you've already got a policy with them. So you could take out annual holiday insurance for say £30 and when you go to get motorcycle insurance you get a big discount.

My wife got about 15% knocked off her car insurance when she told them we have our house insurance with Aviva. The bloke she spoke to confirmed you get a discount regardless of what other insurance you've got with them. He was the one who recommended having annual travel insurance.

Bargain... I'll bear that in mind!

Fwiw I change our vehicle policies every year, have done so since long before Compare the Meercat & the others were around. I realised very early on that there was always another insurer who would offer us insurance cheaper than our renewals.
Until this year.
Last year I changed to Aviva, I also lumped into their multi-vehicle policy. It was a lot cheaper than the renewal I had been offered.
This year, when I got my renewal quote from Aviva I set about sorting the cheaper replacement.
& failed.!!!
For the first time ever my renewal quote was (substantially) cheaper than changing insurer.???

I have checked & double checked all the details are correct, they are.

So this year I have renewed with Aviva.
It actually felt a bit strange.

They declined to insure my 675 though. Apparently it's in too high a risk category for Aviva.

For 2 years MCE have been the cheapest for my by far so I just renewed with them when I was at the show - saved myself over £100 from last year

Everyone knows 675 owners are risk takers

My wife has got 2 cars. She was with Admiral, who pride themselves on multi-vehicle policies.

Aviva could do both cars for the same price Admiral wanted for one.

I wouldn't touch MCE with a napalm coated bargepole.

They're shite. Really bad customer service. I had all sorts of problems with them as they got some very basic details wrong on my insurance. Then when I decided not to renew it took forever to get confirmation of my no claims.

and I think from memory Spudda had a load of problems with them not sending him a copy of the policy.

I second that... customer service is terrible. When I was hit by a drink driver this May it took me 3 days to get through to them to get it reported!!! It was on the road side for 3 DAYS! I had about 10 different case handlers, multiple trainees and countless mistakes were made. It was a terrible experience! Yes, they're the cheapest going... but you get what you pay for when it comes to them!

Mce also rape you on any mid term adjustments,I won't use them again I would rather pay a bit more and go elsewhere

Cheapest isn't necessarily the best value.
