Time to stop paying the TV licence
Can't they leave the classics alone?

Must admit I enjoyed the remake of the missing Hancock's Half Hour episodes on Radio 4

Re: Time to stop paying the TV licence
Doesn't bother me too much.....time for a new generation to enjoy it/them, etc.
A lot of those old shows, when I've seen excerpts years later, were not that good really.
And comedy is a very one-shot deal.....not many jokes are good a second time. Except jokes about SAFC....they're always en vogue.
And Nicolas Cage movies (unintentionally funny).
Thadlidomides on a unicycle, etc.

Now you've ruined it!
Must admit though, when ever I catch Sarah bending down naked I point and shout BURGER!!!
Never gets old, unless your name's Sarah!

Re: Time to stop paying the TV licence
Can not believe they have actually had to remake programmes, BBC have some of the best creative writers in the world and they are all being flipping lazy. Come out with something new that we will all love because they are capable of that...I could imagine their meeting...
OK guys we have to come up with new programmes for the British and potentially the world to watch
Sir it's almost lunch
Ahh yes, well nothing was wrong back in the 70s and 80s let's just remake those
Prefect here here etc
I hear the Red Lion does an amazing chicken pie
Let's go guys!

What would be a good idea??Rossgo wrote:Can not believe they have actually had to remake programmes, BBC have some of the best creative writers in the world and they are all being flipping lazy. It's all demographics they try to appeal to....Star Trek, The Next Generation is almost an inside joke for the industry....it's not just the next gen, of show & actors, it's for parents to watch the stuff they used to watch with their kids. SW was timed the same way. Radio is done that way even more so, as there are less channels and less shows.
I forget the cycle they work off of.......11 years or something like that is a general rule, IIRC??
