That was my other thought, but only if all laws are not applicable...
Surely there is no punishment adequate for such a crime.? Nothing is going to equate to the damage he has inflicted on the whole life of his poor victim, is it.??
You have to wonder what sort of environment/upbringing would produce someone with the sort of mentality that not only thinks that is acceptable, but that it is action wothy of recognition by others.
I bet Lisbeth Salander could dream up a suitable recompense.

In a typical day this week Russia flew 240 - 250 sorties and launched about 1500 missiles according to US military sources.

Russian troops in the North East have grown by 10 battalions, bringing the numbers up to 40.

My thoughts too St Marks, what is the environment in this persons unit like that he could facilitate that act and then feel he was safe to brag about it. What sort of attitudes have been imparted by superiors of the worth of the Ukrainian lives.

Just unfathomable.

Nah.... because then it becomes a revenge thing, and it's not stooping to the same level, but it's certainly a step in the same direction.
I think you just extinguish their life... without hate, without bias, and with that action you also extinguish any chance of them ever repeating their own disgusting actions again.
I'd suggest that it might even serve as an example to others, but I'd be doubtful it would have that effect.

Surely there's a need for a cage prison just for this purpose? They sit in a small box, they can't hear conversation, they can't make conversation, they shit where they eat and eat where they shit. No exercise, no freedom, just a life of sitting in a box where locals can judge him and where he can regret his life safe from physical harm but very much unsafe from his mind. They get 1 meal a day and enough water to survive. They're stripped of everything they have and the whole world can see it.

I dunno if that's the benchmark to go by or not. At least they can surrender now without shame, I suppose.

Sweden and Finland looking to join NATO. Russia says it will bring instability to Europe if they do. Russia is paranoid! They just can't or want to get on with the rest of the world. They can't bring themselves to admit that their way is the wrong way and join in with the rest of us. My neighbours as lovely as they are who are Ukrainian and Latvian never comment, ask advice or complement us on anything we do. It's like they can't bring themselves to do it.

The various russian/soviet peoples have had to endure Dictators right from the very first Tsar up to the present day , I imagine that does something to the collective psyche , then in the last century they had the NKVD , KGB, FSB etc I think I'd be pretty guarded about what I said and to whom if I came from that sort of culture .

There's one hell of a lot of Russian hardware on the move

This is going to be very bloody. Putin seems intent in smashing everything in the way

And by the way, he's sent troops and missiles to the Finnish border.
