Re: What are you doing today ??
Just relaxing after a 14.5 hour shift yesterday, I only did 1 delivery thanks to a management cluster****, Why do I need to be somewhere at 01.30 when they don't open until 5?
Anyway I was a bit bored so did a speed test on my new phone, WIFI 110 Kbps, not bad as I'm paying for 100 and it's not slowed down one bit in 3 years.
Okay, see what all the fuss is about with 5G... 235Kbps, I guess that's why my phone prefers it to the WIFI, it's over twice as fast.
Might get the bike out this evening if it dries up.

Having a productive day. All the washing is done and drying, roses are being twined into place, lawns mowed, etc, etc..
Beautiful weather today makes it all a little easier

Re: What are you doing today ??
I've spent most of the day sorting out most of my spiders. I've had an offer for my collection and enclosures so most are going. I'm keeping a few of my favourites but I'll be down to 7.
I've had to empty, wash and pack the enclosures and all the stuff that comes with it
I also embraced middle age with a trip to a garden centre.
The fish tank has had a water change. I fed send watered all the spiders before packing them up
Now I'm slobbing out

Out at Luna Park (Amusement park on the harbour ) with Jorja and two of her friends for her birthday (actually next weekend but she’s with her mum) it’s only lunch time and I’m done. Still the arvo and 2 hour train ride to get home

Watching a total lunar eclipse right now. It's fairly cool.... the moon is just a large flat ochre disc, sitting low in the sky.

Last day of 5 doing my Training and Assessment qual upgrade. Getting it done while my company still pays for it and I can claim OT for doing it
It’s all by distance via Adobe Connect. Not a bad platform tbh but sitting at home on a computer for 8 hrs a day does not sit well with me it seems!

I'm not a particular fan of WFH.. 2 days a week tops, realistically I'd opt for 2 days every 3rd week. It gets old fast.

Funny how we're all so different.
I do enjoy going into the office once and a while, but I love the WFH lifestyle. No commuting, able to modify hours to suit, being home when the kids get back from school.

A long drive to Bury St Edmunds to see a woman about her loose rug then off to see a man about some spiders

Re: What are you doing today ??
Been in to the post office to apply for my passport, but they couldn't do it today so I applied online when I got home after a nice drive in the countryside...
I should take the bike out but am limping like a pirate so don't trust my left leg to hold me up at a standstill. I don't even remember what I did to myself.

Re: What are you doing today ??
I’d say you are a lot more disciplined than me. I guess I could build better habits, but one of the days I finished early to take Byron to a therapy, and had 2 hours of work to get done in the evening. I completely forgot and wasn’t till 8pm, 2 gins deep I remembered and had to go get it all done.D6Nutz wrote:Funny how we're all so different.

I’ve got decades of being very removed from work when I’m not working, and being in 24 hr process Ops, someone else is doing the job when I’m not. Rather than the work just sitting there waiting for me.
Plus with four kids in the house I literally have no space to set up a office. I’d be just trying to squeeze a desk in a corner somewhere.
I definitely liked the idea of it, but a taste of it showed me I have a lot to do if I was going to make it work.

It takes time and practice. I used to hate working from home. I liked the separation between my house and the office.

I liked the time traveling between the two.... canyon road, half-hour drive, and usually the only time I had to myself.Kwacky wrote:I liked the separation between my house and the office.

Re: What are you doing today ??
For the last decade my work has been a 3500km and international border separation though that commute I am not going to miss at all.
