All new fairing fasteners and nylon washers to accompany the well nuts I bought a while back. Suprising how little things like that make a big difference to how the bike looks

Picked up the sprag clutch parts. There is a real knack to fitting it as there is a large washer fitted between the sprag gear and the crank bearings. Get it wrong and the alternator bolt loosens off and wrecks the engine.
The service guy at JHP said he would tell me how to do it, which he did this afternoon. Eventually he asked my if I had access to a van and if the bike was already apart. An affirmative answer to both and he said that if I brought the bike in, they would fit it for free whilst I waited. Result.

Blade to be fair its and old bike by age.........But it's as good as new when in the hands of you!!Blade wrote:Just routine maintenance.
She's 15 years old and I haven't ridden her for over 2 years so a good through service to bring her back to full health.
The list will grow as they always do but the starting point is:
Brake fluid change
Brake Caliper clean and lube pistons
Clutch fluid change
Clutch hose replacement for braided line
Coolant hose change for Samco Silicone hoses
Coolant change
Oil and filter change
Fork oil change
Grease head bearings
Strip clean and grease suspension linkage
Clean and oil K&N air filter
Balance throttle bodies
Replace battery
Replace spark plugs
Chain clean and lube
Chain alignment and tension
Check all fastener torque settings
Plus anything else I find as I go. Reckon it will take me quite a few days as I only get short bursts between school runs, but I enjoy it so no rush.

It's that time of year where the sun is blinding you, it's freezing cold and there are sudden bursts of rain.
Hurry up spring.

Well as was to be expected, that grew arms and legs. A fork oil changed turned into a full strip down and inspection

A really enjoyable ride home this evening.
The wind has virtually gone, the sky was blue, and the roads where almost dry. Also for some reason, everyone else seems to have stayed at home as the roads where really quiet.

Yes correct, as I have a Xerox tank I would have to change the tank which I can’t be arsed to do, so Xerox it is, though these are a nice set from Italy.D41 wrote:Xerox Rep.??

New chain fitted.. and in good time too! I counted 1.5 O-rings left in my master link on the existing chain.
Briefly took it up and down the cul-de-sac and the bike feels mint! (besides the cold track PSI front tyre )

I never found working on the bike satisfying until doing it in my workshop... an oil and filter change is one of those satisfying jobs

Nearly got blown off it this morning. Another horrible wet and windy morning.
The ride home made up for it though, can't back on the country lanes.
