I've not liked any of the recent Bridgestone tyres. Very wooden.

On a coople.of the test ride bikes those RS10s were incredible!! Would love to try a pair of those
Don't get me wrong the 023 must be doing their job due to all the reviews but agreed very wooden!!

The 023s work great on the SV650S.. whether due to the torque pulses or the super sloppy suspension I wouldn't know but I could keep up with guys on sports tyres with those tyres.
Had them on the Ninja when I bought that and absolutely hated them - worst tyre I'd ever ridden on that bike

Ive never liked Bridgestones, I find as said they are very wooden and I get ne feel from them. just my 2 pence worth
speaking of lack of feel those Michelins I have atm are fun in the rain as proved this morning again.......not.........
time for them to go I think, the rear is so square I may aswell fit a car tyre atm anyway

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
Today sorting out my mates front brakes.
He said to me
'My brakes feel weird' carried onto ask me ' could you take it out for a quick ride and test them for me?'
'No worries' I replied
Took it out and low and behold i realised what was wrong...
Rear brake is great front brake...well what front brake haha
So anyway today I stripped them down
Piston weren't moving in one of the Calipers and it was proven when I took a look at the pads...0 brake dust in the grooves and I couldn't take the holding pin out for the pads. So had to make do and tried my best
The other side was easy to strip and clean
So anyway after doing all of it all piston now move and when out for a test ride it seems a lot better. All it took was 2 cans of brake cleaner, a tooth brush and time!!

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
I had a mate who for some reason bout an old vtr firestorm, he had told me the brakes wernt that great before I got on it, MY FING GOD, there were no brakes, I came flying up to a junction and pulled the lever.....nothing! literally banged it down the gears and let the engine braking of the big twin do its job but that was scary, got back and looked and the brake fluid was literally black!
Bloody death trap, apparently it was about 15 years old the fluid, stupid!

Lol... glad you're okay but lol.
I did trackdays with my brake fluid black because I'd never checked it.. that was the reason my lever kept going long after a lap or two

Took the Street for a couple of hours of blatting about. The tyres don't like colder conditions thats for sure - not bad but not as confidence inspiring.
Still a good ride and i managed to find a Volvo driver with a death wish that didn't seem to understand bikes are faster than cars. Scary bloke. HE was however left disappointed

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
With having relations staying over this weekend it was a surprise to get a couple of hours spare for a blast out into the Peak ....
I'm trying to see if I could use the 690 with some 17" wheels as my main bike and then add something a bit less fun for touring.
First impressions are good , its certainly fast enough for the riding and roads I like to use and the seat although not much wider than a proper enduro bike seems comfy enough for the 1 to 2 hour rides I normally do, some impact shorts would still improve it though.
I did get a bit carried away harrasing an RC8 which isn't the most sensible thing to do on 50/50 tyres ..... Neither were the 4th gear wheelie's that I found it can do but wheelie's are always fun

Wasn't it, I had to scrape ice off the windscreen before I could drive off with the heating full on and the heated seat on level 3. lolKwacky wrote:Holy crap, who turned the heating off? It's fecking freezing this morning.
