All of the symptoms of depression and anxiety. When my brother is having a bad day he cannot physically get out of bed.Cavetroll87 wrote:Spending the day sitting at work when id rather be at home looking after Mrs CT. She is Mega down at the moment, she has a new manager at work who has completely changed her role and stripped away everything she loved about the job, it caused her to become VERY anxious all the time, very erractic mood swings, constantly feeling very down. This morning she literally just couldn't get out of bed. I am very worried but I don't know what I can do, she is looking for other jobs but there isn't a lot coming up in her sector at the moment due to Brexit and stuff.
What are you doing today ??

Hope she gets the help she needs, Cavetroll87.
WTF are we doing to our people? I would guess the numbers affected by stress, anxiety and depression have risen exponentially in the last 10 years.

I've been to my interview with Northern Rail and they seemed happy with my answers and the questions that I asked of them so all I can do now is wait and see what they say. They are interviewing all week and the list of names was quite long. Finger's and other things crossed!

Yeah it is, a good step up from Buses although it does still have the crappy working hours and regimented holidays the pay is double once I have had the training.

A mate of mine was a chartered accountant. He gave it up to drive trains for Virgin. He loves it. No stress, union protected, overtime and loads of time off.
He's currently in New Orleans with his wife. This is their second holiday so far this year.

My brother was training to be a train driver. Day 1 someone jumped in front of the train. A few months later someone jumped in front of his train again. He decided to stay in the office and do control instead.

They jump in front of buses too, difference is that a bus can steer away and I know that I will be giving up the option of evasive action. I honestly don't know how I would deal with it but just hope that I won't have to.

Had a busy day today. Only jist finished really. Got my hair cut, my dog got a groom as well she is lookong lovely right now. Got rang up by my misses whilst she was at work and I think she's got food poisoning so she's come home early. Also picked up my new Handroid gloves. I had to order them as they didn't have them in stock. So comfy looking forward to actually using them now!

My Brother, uncle, aunt, Grandad, Cousin all work or have worked for London Underground, My Brother and cousin did maintenance and clean up and a few times had to deal with people who had jumped, he was saying the drivers are literally told, close your eyes as that's literally all you can do. My Brother also told me a story of how they found a blokes tongue nearly half a mile down the track from where he was hit once.Stonesie wrote:They jump in front of buses too, difference is that a bus can steer away and I know that I will be giving up the option of evasive action. I hope you get the job though mate and hope you never have to deal with any of that!

Getting blown and not in a good way, I’ve been working at Heathrow facing into 50mph+ winds, my eyes feel as I’ve marinated them in brake cleaner for a day, on the plus side I’m relaxing with a cuppa whilst Mrs Gee puts the finishing touches to a steak & kidney pie.....
