1983 Honda CB1000 Custom
So, about time I posted this project up here!
Was kindly given a 1983 CB1000 Custom towards the end of last year. Been sat outside in the rain without a cover for over 5 years. Started and ticked over very occasy, but nothing otherwise!
Its a US import only. 10 speed shaft drive monster! Only in production for a year, so pretty rare over here. So...chop the hell out.of it!
Day I collected..
Working out shock lengths
Shocks on, frames chopped
New tank and bars
Stripped further!
And tonight's purchase! CB1100F front end. Braided hoses, Nissin master cylinder and uprated springs
Lots still to come!

Liking the look of that, I would love to be able to do a project bike at some point..
I have to say, that bikes in pretty good nick considering it's been sat outside for that long..

That would do your nut in.. I have enough trouble remembering which gear I'm in with only 6 gears to worry about.Stew wrote:10 speed ? haven't seen that before

Re: 1983 Honda CB1000 Custom
Its good innit ? I find half the fun of doing this is the research, tracking down obscure websites in Japan etc and scouring Ebay for some part that you reckon only you knows the worth of and hoping to god someone desnt beat you to it, once mine's done I think I will be looking for another, not sure what, probably another kwak tbh, looking forward to seeing how this turns out
