Just got this in an email.. The 749R/999 being a WSBK engine had no starter motor or provision for one apparently

Only reason I'm working (loose term, translated as "ripping shi*t off and throwing it over my shoulder") on the 851 is I've pretty much finished the 749R/999. I even tried bump starting it down my 200m gently sloping driveway......only to be massively underwhelmed when it BARELY turned over. 'Course then I had to push the f**kin' thing back UP the hill......the local kids learnt some pretty saucy language about supposed Italian superbikes not be very bloody super.
