Lovely, its a great looking bike in the first place, but iconic paint schemes always work.

If you can afford it, get it. Even if it's only for a year. You like your Ducatis and as you've pointed out there's a time coming when you won't be able to ride sports bikes.

Going to test ride the new Multistrada next weekend which should make up my mind about what to do next.

IMO it's one of those life moments you would always look back on and think, what if or I wish I had.
I know I will always hanker after the 899 or 848..

I feel that I've done the liter sports bike now, and it's just far to easy to get to speeds tugs will really get you into trouble.Blade wrote:Why the 899 over the 1299 Nutz any particular reason ?
The next bike for me (which will be a way off) will either be heading back to lower cc sports or more likely a slightly larger naked.

In those clothes it looks pure sex. I'd be afraid to take it out for a thrash though.

Re: Martini Panigale
Nutz if possible I would advise a test ride on a 1299 or other modern litre bike if you haven't already. I know the Millie is a 1000cc sportsbike but in fairness and not meant detrimental to the mille modern litre bikes are pumping out 70-80 bhp more these days and its a completely different experience.D6Nutz wrote:I feel that I've done the liter sports bike now, and it's just far to easy to get to speeds tugs will really get you into trouble.Blade wrote:Why the 899 over the 1299 Nutz any particular reason ?

I fully respect what you say about speed and getting a tug but let's be honest if you so wanted to landed yourself in hot water on a 600 sportsbike it would only take about 2 seconds and 2mm of throttle movement
Another good point Duke made is bikes like the 1299 come with power modes so you can keep the full power mode for track work and have a very civilised road bike also by selecting a different map.
Not in anyway trying to persuade you towards a litre bike but just suggesting maybe try and blag a few free test rides on modern litre bikes for the experience if nothing else
Either way it will certainly be a fun day out using someone else Tyres and fuel

Re: Martini Panigale
An 899 is only a few cc down on your RSV and definitely up on other specs, so it's not a drop down IMO

It's a step up and a stunning bike.
Saw a red one the other day with gold wheels and it looked mint.

Oz make some lovely wheels for the 899 and 1199 and are what the WSBK team are using.

I'm probably the only one, but i don't like gold wheels on bikes. Looks chavvy to me. I know its a ducati tradition though and will appeal to fans

Re: Martini Panigale
I am like the paint job on this. I'm with Tony on this don't usually like the race reps but this looks good. Unsure if I would want to buy it with my own money (there's no danger of that in any way lol but seems like a paint job to show off in a nice warm locked up garage bringing it out only to show off parked up at some meet!
