How are things in your neck of the woods? Still the same or are the police on a higher state of alert?

"Heightened awareness" I suppose is how one would phrase it. We are not having any protests in our area, but the local media is certainly fanning the flames as if they'd like to start some.

On the flip side, in recent weeks I have had more people approach me and express their support for law enforcement, to include two today in the span of 30 minutes. Second man was a Vietnam vet, and I see parallels to that era in America.

It's always nice to be told you're appreciated, especially in a line of work where you're putting everything on the line for people you don't know.

I agree with what Obama said. Not acceptable in anyway to react like this, arson is arson, looting is still looting its mindless rage and violence which are not the way to change anything.

Glad to hear you not tied up in that mess Mac, but as you mention I could imagine it being tense anywhere in enforcement over there. Media need a bloody rocket up them. stat safe dude.
