Fwiw I remember listening to my Dad & some of his friends discussing their concerns about Islamic idealists. That would have been some time in the 70's.Kwacky wrote:Listen to this guy. The interview is a couple of years old but relates to current issues

Re: Syria, Immigrants and world politics.
I don't think ISIS have their own munitions factories so where does all their ammunition come from , if as we are led to believe its whats been stockpiled or captured then surely they will run out sooner or later . I have a suspicion that many people are getting extremely wealthy selling arms and ammunition to them .

ISIS are very good at fund raising and they're being supported by a lot of wealthy people. Loads of cash and weapons come from Saudi Arabia.
Can we guess which two countries sell weapons to the Saudis?

Most of the weapons seem of Russian / Chinese origin.
From what I've seen on the news I haven't seen them equipped with any western manufactured arms.

Russia and China supply the Syrian Army, so ISIS will no doubt be using stuff they've taken from them.

Looks like Russia is moving in to Syria to prop up his mate.
If Putin does that he'll set up bases in the area and won't be in any rush to leave.

As long as it brings stability it might not be bad thing.
The country is ripped apart from civil war some peace and order must be welcome.
Look at Iraq and Libya they had less terssiom and murder on the streets when they had their dictators in charge. Far from perfect but surely more stable and peaceful for the average person than now.

That I agree with. Invading Iraq has led to this shit.
What worries me is what Russia will do long term. I can't see them leaving.

The world badly needs a mass Revolution to rid the world of these evil feckers who think bombing and killing is the answer to their own problems.
Eventually someone will be stupid/desperate enough to press the big red button.

Re: Syria, Immigrants and world politics.
This proxy war in Syria has been stepped up a level, and it hardly seems to have registered.
My overriding concern for the future of our species being threatened by overpopulation will certainly be trounced if this escalates...
However unfortunately this terrifying "remedy" will also affect me, and curtail any future trackdays I may consider.
Drat.!
