Re: What are you doing today ??
A nice, stress-free week of no teaching lined up for me. That'll do nicely.
Wait...
What's that?
You want me to carry out an internal audit of our section checking our fuels, lubricants and quality assurance system?
My my, how delighted I am that you have bestowed this gift upon me. I'll start it as soon as I finish my list of things I'd rather be doing. Like receiving a pineapple up my anus!
Although to be fair, it's not actually that bad now that I've got into it. The work that is supposed to have taken us up to Wednesday lunchtime has been done already. My oppo has a meeting this afternoon so we'll carry on tomorrow and probably finish the work that would take us up to Friday.
Giving me 3 days to pretend I'm working.

Re: What are you doing today ??
Spend all day going back an forward with a car dealer over the phone.
Started with offering me $19K change over with my Ute as a trade. Finished up with $16K change over, heavy duty towbar, 3 year extended warranty and roadside assistance, full detail and able to service with any licenced mechanic.
I needed something 4x4 to tow the new camper trailer off-road.
2011 Nissan Pathfinder ST-L, 41,000 km's, 2.5L Turbo diesel. Pick up on Thursday.

Re: What are you doing today ??
2 meetings down and both went well I feel; they basically offered me the job there and then. It's a change of division (working on different products) but similar-ish role (design and investigation work so a little report writing here and there). I have a preferred out of the two so far but I have a meeting after lunch in a completely different role - something more commercial.
The one role would be working for a guy I do trackdays with but not entirely sure about the role itself, much more testing than designing.
I'm off to enjoy some chicken with some Argentinian sauce, new potatoes and green beans

Glad they went well Cav, clearly you need to have a good think about what you do now, but it's nice to know you have options

Re: What are you doing today ??
Did parent helper duties at my kids school athletics carnival. Being a small school it was pretty relaxed and everyone is really supportive. I was the starter for the track events but the last 200m race was senior boys 11-12 yrs, only had 3 in it, so the teacher knowing I run a bit asked if I'd join in to encourage them along. So I did. Bugger me I nearly got my ar$e handed to me! 50m in I realised I was going to actually dig in and push. I ran in with the lead boy who bet his PB and got into the regionals but to be honest if I'd been trying to bet him I'd have only go him by a couple of metres. He came over to thank me for pushing him, but I was flat on my back trying to get my breath back!
The sack races were I bit more laid back as I jumped in to make up a team that was short in my sons age group.
My little girl won two events so she was stoked. I was just happy Byron completed all the events as I was woken last night at 1am with him having a full on anxiety attack about today. Took me 2 hours to calm him and get him back to sleep. So proud of them both for putting in full effort.
It was a good day to be a dad today.

Returning a Pipewerx and Two Brothers slip on. Managed to get a bargain last night in the shape of an Arrow 3-1 system for my STR. Facebook is good for something.

What are you doing today ??
I'll do it myself. Laptop and an OBD2 cable and a free programme for now. I have a BMC race filter to go on too so I'll have it set up proper on a dyno.

TuneECU Cav, sadly it doesn't work with our bikes which is a shame as it's fooking brilliant!

Not to mention, resetting the TPS, adjusting the speedo ratio, reading FI faults, disabling the oxygen sensor, plus you can use it to do custom fuel/air maps on the Dyno.TonyB wrote:That's the badger. Saves the dealer charging me 40 fackin quid for a generic map.
I used it for about 5 years and all it cost was £6.99 for an USB OBD.
