Seems Clarkson, May and Hammond are now producing a TV show for Amazon Prime.

Re: Top Gear Presenters to Amazon
I think they will do well although I won't be able to download their program. I hate signing up for things and having to pay extra for what essientially is TV. It's a shame as I know they wiwll make it into a hit

I think you can have it on trial free for a month Rossgo. Wait till they have done the entire series. Get the free trail and then watch the entire series on their catch up service

Personally i think they ave got what they deserved..or at least Clarkson has.
A programme on a small Tv set up that not many people watch. I just never got the hype about them, it was just three blokes acting like spoilt children IMHO.

Re: Top Gear Presenters to Amazon
I know what you mean Duke was never really a fan and rarely watched it.
When I did I actually quite liked Hammond and May but found Clarkson too far up his own arse for me to like him and found him to be a rather annoying old man trying to be something he is not imo.

I really liked it. Other than MotoGP it was the only TV I ever bothered recording. We get bombarded with so much americanised TV in Aussie I think I enjoy the 'motherland' aspect of it as much as anything. Growning up in NZ in my younger years we had loads of UK shows and before Jap imports cars were prodominately old English ones. (My first was a '63 Mk 1 Cortina). As for Clarkson, I thought he was funny on screen but I looked at one of his books and thought 'nah, couldn't read that'

Re: Top Gear Presenters to Amazon
I've already got prime so will probably check it out.
I don't actually mind clarkson, he's managed not to fold under the pressure of the politically correct brigade and still says what he thinks. The three of then together was a good balance IMO.
If the first show is any good I may carry on watching it.

Re: Top Gear Presenters to Amazon
i think all three of them have had their day and a bit long in the tooth now.I wont be rushing to watch it,when they were doing euro trips in supercars it was great but later on and the need to try and be comedians totally ruined the show

I really liked watching Top Gear, but you can only do the same jokes, with the same people, in the same format for so long. Probably best it died when it did.

Re: Top Gear Presenters to Amazon
It was the euro trips and races that made the show for me. The destruction of cars etc really pissed me off. They need to change the format, if they just redo the current format it will die. Star in a reasonably priced car has always been crap for a starter.Perkles wrote:i think all three of them have had their day and a bit long in the tooth now.I wont be rushing to watch it,when they were doing euro trips in supercars it was great but later on and the need to try and be comedians totally ruined the show
I won't subscribe to prime just to watch a TV show, got better things to do.

Re: Top Gear Presenters to Amazon
I've always disliked Clarkson, an immature, bigoted twat, and whilst I dislike the PC brigade as much as most people I still couldn't take him. That said the prog helped subsidise the Beeb and there's plenty on there I do like, so sorry to see it go I guess.
I'm not sure this Amazon thing is anything more than an advert for some of the bigger tv production companies to see what they can do without the restraint of the Beeb - Clarkson without the need to fight the inside bureaucracy may be a different fish completely though.
Like Nutz I've already got Prime, but watching through Apple TV it's buggy and horrible - plus it doesn't offer the opportunity to download and then watch something direct from your device rather than at the whim of the traffic policy of your ISP (another stone in my shoe), streaming's great if you've got a solid connection - I don't despite paying for Infinity. All in all I think it's too little too late for the 3 Amigoes, sorry Jezza you've had your day.

Exactly what Deegee put so well above ^
Hopefully if the Amazon Prime is a flop , Clarksons ego might drop down a notch or two.

Re: Top Gear Presenters to Amazon
I really like Clarkson he won't back down to the PC of this country and I personally find it quite refreshing for a BBC member to be like that nowadays. Hope they do well in my opinion with their new show
