It is with great regret and sadness that Hottrax Motorsport Racing Club Ltd announce that we must cease trading as of 29th May 2015. After taking advice from our financial advisors it has become apparent that we cannot meet our financial commitments. The Directors have no choice but to cancel all future events and place the company into liquidation.

We are very sorry for the people who have put their trust in us this year and in the past, the meetings we have run have been special and we have made some lovely friends during the past 9 years.

Our thanks go to the officials and marshals who have given up their time, mostly free of charge, to help us run meetings for everyone’s benefit and enjoyment.

Blimey, they've been going for years.

They do a lot of stuff beyond track days as well.

Is it just the racing side of the business or TD as well ?

Everything from what I can see.

Sad news i did a lot of trackdays with them years ago and they were a very friendly company

They had very good customer service. Always a free bacon buttie when signing on which was a nice touch.

Been on a fair few track days with and marshalled for Dave and his missus, really sorry to hear this, they pulled out of UK trackdays because there was no money in it, seems there's precious little in race events and foreign days as well.

Hopefully not the start of a decline in TD organisers / companys.

Prices aren't cheap but then saying that they haven't really risen in the last ten years so no wonder company's are struggling in this sector.

The number of days available for motorbikes had declined dramatically over the last 10 years. That's made some of the circuits greedy.

I expect prices to go up.

Unfortunately we have become a society that always expects things cheaper all the time and that just isn't possible.

I've been having a discussion with a client this week whose competitor wants to give away one free product for every ten sold to get the business. I told him unless he can make his product 10% cheaper he would be foolish to try and compete as neither of them would be making a profit then and eventually one or most likely both will go bust.

A mate at work was saying how milk cows are being cruelly kept in pens a bit like battery hens. Apparently there is a campaign for free range cows. And the reason behind all this is people still want to pay a quid for 4 pints of milk which is 1980 prices

How much are TD's over your way?

I pay AU$235 (£120) on weekdays and $265 (£135) on weekends. Considering the costs I think it's reasonable, but the local forums are full of people complaining.

We don't get bacon butties at sign in thou!

Typical anywhere from £99 to £169 depending on venue and whether week or weekend like you.

It was only Hottrax that did free bacon but tie. Probably cost them 50p extra per head but a nice touch and made you feel good as a customer.

Its the track hire that is expensive i beleive

And i suspect going up exponentially all the time.

A track costs in the region of £4,000 to £10,000 to hire for a day depending on who owns it, the time of year and the day. Weekend motorbike days are rare now so they fetch the highest prices.

Tbh I have heard even more than that Kwacky in some cases. I have heard Brands Hatch GP is £15000 a day and that's why they charge £225 and very few days come up.

I guess its because peoples back gardens come right up to the edge of the GP circuit so not many days allowed on the full GP circuit.

That doesn't surprise me Blade. I'm going off what I was told a few years ago so it's bound to have increased.
