1, First bike at 13 was a Mobylette 49cc, bought as a non-runner from a mate at school, took all the red hermatite out of the carb and lapped the head to the barrel again and it started first time, rode it on disused land for 3yrs. I thought I was Barry Sheene.

2, Next was my first road bike at 16, a Purple FS1E, bought as a tatty wreck, fixed it up over the months before my burp day, and wrote it off in a smidsy after 1 month only.

3, Next was another Ped, this time a Candy Gold FS1E SS, fast as fook and made me the riding God of the Local Ped boys.

4, Traded the Yam for a red Suzuki TS185, and went everywhere on it, learnt to wheelie and fell off a few times off road, loved that bike.

5, Eventually sold the TS and had a break for a couple of years, but being flush after working offshore I bought a blue GS750 Suzuki, another Hogwarts MoT case, as I replaced spoked wheels, swing arm bearings and cct, but kept it for years, first bike I ever broke the ton on.

6, After selling the GS to buy my first house money was tight, so didn't get another bike until I was divorced 5yrs later, but bought a white/red Jelly mould CBR1000F, another bike that was insanely fast to me at the time, and popped my 150 cherry at 10pm on the M25 on the way home from from a bloody cold Bike show at the NEC in the early 90's.

7, Flogged the Honda and bought a red T595, brilliant bike at the time, did my first Trackday on that bike over 10yrs ago and it was the bike that got #1 Son hooked on bikes as a pillion, that bike also got me busted for speeding in 3 figures, and was the reason I joined my first bike forum (T595.net as was).
595 rhf.JPG
8, I bought a black CG125 in boxes (my first Ebay purchase), with the idea of fixing it up for #1 Sons 17th birthday, that didn't happen of course and it stayed half built for 8yrs in the corner of the garage, I believe it was sheltered housing for distressed spiders. I eventually sold it to a 675.cc member that wanted to practice spannering. His own bike blew up a month later...

9, I traded the T595 in for a Graphite Daytona 675 (on a waiting list anyway) as soon as I sat on it at the NEC, loved everything about it immediately, still in love with them now. Took it to the track and it took to it like a duck to water, however a fastish crash meant road use only after it was fixed. I sold that bike last year, and the lad that bought it had it for a few months and introduced it to a Derbyshire dry stone wall at speed, he's nearly finished fixing it I understand.
Cadwell 1.JPG
10, I was looking for a winter hack, and saw a Tiger 900, put a silly bid on it and won it, it's seen nearly every winter through, has been the fall back bike if either my 675 was unavailable or Sons bike was broken, I've still got although it caused me a headache earlier this year when it got the hump and wouldn't start when needed - fixed now.
ee_12.jpg
11, After enjoying a couple of trackdays on the 675, I crashed it. That meant a proper track bike, so I ended up with an ex-Bemsee Gixer6 K2, I learnt how to ride on track properly (well as good as I get anyway) on that bike, it wasn't pretty, but it was fast, and remains to this day the only bike I have ever sold for more than I paid for it.
P6300073.JPG
12, Having had a 675 on track, nothing else would do, so when the chance of a written off nearly new 08 came along I took it immediately, I rebuilt it as a track bike, and have been using it since late 2009 and enjoying every second of it - apart from the odd crash of course, I've still got it and hope to be back on it as soon as I'm fit to be on track again.

I suppose I have had quite a nice collection of bikes, but some being not very good :^

My first bike after passing my test, I quite liked it and was certainly quick enough !
Image

Then about 6 months later I saw this and fell in love, I did love the 675 till some scumbag nicked it.
Image

I did get it back but it was damaged so while it was being repaired I saw this in a showroom in London, that was it.. (h)
Image

I absolutely adored that bike but what a lemon and Aprilia pissed me off even more so she had to go...but god I missed her. I traded in her in for this
Image

Didn't really gel with the S1 so when I heard the panigale was coming out that was it, electronic suspension, qs. tc etc etc I was hooked so then she came
Image

I loved her at first but the longer I had her the more I didn't want to ride her, she would have killed me eventually, took her round Silverstone twice and it was great fun but on public roads what a pig !! I was so disappointed I thought this bike was it !!

So I chopped it in for another RSV4 as IMO it's the best bike by far I love it !!!
Image

Now unfortunately as im getting on a bit and my right knee is shagged it was getting uncomfortable, and I had always wanted one of these after seeing them at the Ducati dealers etc so plumped for something a tad more comfortable (wasntme)
Image

track bike wise I had this for about 2 years and what a lovely machine
Image

She is moving onto pastures new so this is currently in the garage and that's where she hasn't moved from as I haven't had a chance to do anything with her yet ;(

Mick, I really thought you were at Snetterton on Sunday, there was a spotless Castrol Blade just like yours there, I even asked Harriet if you'd sneaked in on the QT and not told us. :x

Jealous now. (envy)

My Sis found out they'd been rehearsing near to her old office at Cecil Sharpe House for the last month. Oddly she really regretted leaving that job after hearing that. :D

I remember doing this before.
Beta 50cc
Kx125 motocross
Road version 125 forgotten model
Rm250 motorcross
Puch 50cc
Fs1e - also purple like Deegee. Expansion chamber (homemade) ported, bored out to 60 odd cc, skimmed head, re jetted, went like stink, even quicker when it was nicked. Almost caught the arse, as I chased him up the high street, but he got away. ( not for long though)
Kr1s
ZX600r
Harley 1200 old school stripped down sporty model. Until I blew the engine up
Harley Fxdxi sport model bored out to 1500cc with eagle racing tuning
ZX600r
675se blue frame white plastics - lovely bike - first met the Slappers when I had this :)
Cbr600 road and track
Tiger 800 XC
S1000rr
I think that's it for now.... But watch this space

Took me a while to put this together:

First bike Honda Bros 400. Would have this back in a heartbeat if i ever traced it.
Honda E85 CVM.jpg
Moved on to a 600 Bandit. Bought this brand new in 1998 for £3,999. Was blown away by the xtra performance at the time.
bandit.jpg
And then on to the Daytona 600. Again another big step in performance by my biggest memory of a first ride on one of these was how good the brakes were.
25.12.05 020.jpg
Think i kept the Daytona for 4 years and started to get a bit bored with it. Test rode this and could not resist it.
IMG00186-20100515-0938.jpg
I had always had the urge to own a Ducati and whilst i still owned the 954, i bought this.
2014-05-03 16.13.22.jpg
Owning two sportsbikes made no sense to me then (even though the Honda felt like a tourer compared to the 748). So i chopped the 954 in for the Tuono.
IMG00197-20100515-1626_2.jpg
Only owned the Tuono for 6 months ( 4 of which it was off road spent waiting for Aprilia to get off the arse and supply the spares) as the engine bearings were made of cheese. So swapped that for the last of the original 1050 Speed Triples.
South Staffordshire-20120809-00124.jpg
In between this CBR600 trackbike was added.
IMG-20110509-00032.jpg
And finally the Speedie went for the Multi. I guess really easily the best bike i have owned in that it does so much so well.
2014-07-01 14.15.16.jpg

And who knows what might be next! :D

I'll echo that sentiment, saw a couple on track while I was at Snetterton on Tuesday, great soundtrack to cane a bike round there to. 8)

I do fancy an Aprilla RSV4 but I'm not sure I will ever own one. Duke and kingfixers bad experiences really have scared me about owning an Aprilla.

If you wanted one my opinion is to buy the cheapest you can find, get it properly serviced by an expert on the bike and just rag it. They are not all bad by any means but you need to go into it with eyes wide open. I can totally understand why you would want one but I would never have one as my main bike. As a Sunday morning ride and track day bike they would be epic.

You can pick some up for little more than £7 k now.
