Okay after using the R1 as my sole bike for the last 4 and half years I now have the Tiger 800 to tootle about on in the winter and crap weather....
Only ever used PR4, PR3 and Angel ST's on the R1 and now looking at the new Metzeler M7 RR tyre.
Might have mentioned before that by the time I had my 3rd session at brands on the PR4 it felt like I was riding on hard boiled eggs dipped in Sunflower oil and subsequently didn't do the last session having two mini high sides in the same 20 min sessions. 1st two sessions were great to the point I scraped pegs (albeit stock pegs combined with poor body positioning)
Anyway any one have views on these so called 'new' tyre from Metz? more hypersport/race tyre (but not quite racetecs)
Am not expecting 10,000 miles like the ST... but that's fine
Cheers
Finally new tyres time for the R1

The latest convert is Rocket who has slapped them on his gixxer thou. He's in love with them.
Interesting comments about the PR4. The SX forum riders swear by them.

yeah I was also surprised. Especially as I had previously used PR3 tyres and loved these. Only time I had the PR4 and never since. Would have had PR3 on if it weren't for the garage no longer having them. Anyway been on ST since (the old trusted favourite mile muncher)

The mechanic I use swears by those ST tyres and he's no slouch on a bike.

I'll probably get those next for the SX. The S20 are ok but don't inspire too much confidence in the wet.
