I've stopped home today. felt a bit off colour since Monday though all tests have been negative.
Its rampant in some work places though. Boris has no clue what he is doing.

Take into consideration how many people now don't bother testing, even when they feel ill.Kwacky wrote:It's not gone away
Bojo said it was finished so we don't need to worry any more.

Re: Coronavirus - hype or pandemlc?
Still rampant around here too. It almost feels like I know more people that have had it than haven’t.
Yet there is now no check in or mask mandates anywhere other than high risk settings (health care, aged care etc)
Myself and both my kids have been close contacts in the last month.
Obviously mine was Jess.. so plenty of exposure there
Jorja was on school camp. 6 in the cabin, 4 positive.
Byron at school. His friends group. Same result 4 of 6 positive.
Yet all three of us have avoided it.

China has gone into full meltdown
I've just seen a video of cats and dogs in bags dumped on the streets, so they can be collected for extermination.

My mate has got MS. He's got covid at the moment and he's really struggling with it. The covid has caused a massive flare up of MS. He's pretty much housebound at the moment.

Re: Coronavirus - hype or pandemlc?
My son has tested positive and isn't too good.
The wife and I are supposed to be going on holiday to France on Saturday, our first proper holiday for nearly three years.
Fingers crossed neither of us contract it before then.

I hope he's feeling better soon.
I see the numbers have jumped up. 651 related deaths yesterday. The highest since Feb 21.

Re: Coronavirus - hype or pandemlc?
Guess which country recorded the highest covid related deaths in a single day this week, beating the nearest rival by more than 250?

Re: Coronavirus - hype or pandemlc?
They reckon at least 1m but probably 2m have died in China since the start of the outbreak. There's a 20 day backlog at the largest crematorium in Bejing.
There's another wave happening out there now. Their current mantra is "let whoever wants to be infect, get infected". The R rate is less than a day now. They can't test fast enough to confirm the spread of the virus.
If you have a look on social media there's lot of evidence of empty cities. People are too scared to go out, even though they've relaxed conditions. Those conditions are going to be tightened again. They've already shut schools in a few regions.
The knock on effect is going to be medicine. China exports a lot of standard medications, such as antibiotics and the likes of ibuprofen. There will also be a big hit again on the economy if China stops production generally as happened in the first wave.
