As a certain Mr Kwacky might have mentioned, I am a tweeter. I tweet. A lot.
I met my last girlfriend via twitter, ffs.
It's down today.
I am struggling. How will I cope? The world deserves snippets of my life in 140 character bursts.

Re: Twitter
No worries, it's back up. Carry on spamming.
It's had a couple of problems recently. I think it was down over the weekend.

It's okay though - soon you can procrastinate as much as your heart permits with a 10,000 character limit!

Re: Twitter
I can't see twitter going for that. I reckon it was a fake report to see how people will react.
One of the big UK bosses of Twitter, Bruce Daisley, is a friend of mine. We went to school together. Always a hard worker.

Re: Twitter
never been on twitter. I don't see the appeal. I'm barely ever on facebook to be honest.
I don't care what others are up to. And don't like the idea of people looking to see what I am up to.

I only have a FB account to make Pinterest easier to log into, other than that I'm with D6.D6 wrote:never been on twitter. I don't see the appeal. I'm barely ever on facebook to be honest.

Re: Twitter
I like twitter. It's text messages open to the public.
Plus it's very good for news and sport.

Re: Twitter
I think we put far too much personal information up on the net. Twitter and Facebook being the worst of it all, I have my Facebook only open to people who I am friends who I keep in contact with not to the public (unless it's useless crap then I don't mind). I have known far too many people who add people who they don't even know (met once at a club) and add them, think it's just silly!! I don't really get Twitter isn't it just a side project of Facebook?!

Re: Twitter
I had a clear out on Facebook. No one I've dropped has asked why or sent a friend request so it looks like I chose wisely.
Twitter is good fun. I like it.

Re: Twitter
I don't use Facebook. I think it turns interactions between friends into something less than they should be and I won't have any part of it. I really haven't missed any of the people who didn't take the opportunity to send me their numbers when I left and I have no interest in seeing what exes and other people who've left my life are up to.
Conversely, I like twitter. It encourages brevity and I've made some really good mates there, several of whom I've met in real life now and have good, enduring relationships with. I even met my last girlfriend on there.

And speaking of what we should or shouldn't put on the internet, let us not forget that Facebook will sell any of your data - whether public or "private" to the highest bidder at the drop of a hat. Show them the money and it's yours.

Re: Twitter
I had to go through my 'friends' as well a while back. I got so fed up of girls who used to be friends with posting up pics of their babies using the potty, and naked baby pics of them in the bath...I just couldn't believe what crap they allowed on their pages, at some points I just thought it was dam right sick. Then I had a lot of old school mates who in all honesty I never saw anything from or saw too much from eg a handful of mates still running away from the old bill, or getting into fights etc. I was growing up getting settled with my partner (now 8 years) and they were acting like 16 year olds couldn't believe it. They had to go haha!!Kwacky wrote:I had a clear out on Facebook. No one I've dropped has asked why or sent a friend request so it looks like I chose wisely.

Now I feel a lot happier with the people I've got on my Facebook
