Re: 2016 ZX10R
You know what I was playing on an xbox driving game the other day. I had the driver aids on and you could basically drive full throttle everywhere drifting and sliding with the electronics cleaning everything up.Perkles wrote:Nice review, even though it's more powerful it sounds like they have made it easier to use
Reminded me of a 2015 R1 review I read (44 teeth I think) where they riding a new R1 round a track holding the throttle on the stop for a full lap and praising how good the electronics were at cleaning everything up and keep the rider safe whilst still enjoying an amazing ride.
Seems the two worlds of gaming and biking are coming closing together. I guess whether you see that as god or bad will be debatable but what is beyond dispute is this is the current direction of progress.

I can see why it's there, but you're no longer sorting the men out from the boys. A huge dollop of skill and bravado is taken away if you're leaning on the electronics to make you quicker.

2016 ZX10R is going to be a real weapon at the TT, NW200 & Ulster GP and I can see Kawasaki having a very good season in 2016 Road Racing.

Re: 2016 ZX10R
It makes it more rewarding when you get past someone riding one of these electronically-clad bike on a 600 without rider aids though !!!
That's why me chasing down and overtaking the instructor on the 2015 S1000RR is my favourite video I've put on YouTube !!

Re: 2016 ZX10R
It's is Duke. Tradionally a 600 man but he has been getting better on the big bikes and who would count against him on what has to be one of the strongest superstock race packages in the 2016 zx10r. Definitely a podium threat.

Re: 2016 ZX10R
Hickman is going to be a big star of the TT and he has a good bike in a good team with plenty of testing and BSB rounds to keep him sharp. Totally agree he is a very strong podium threat at this year's TT.

Re: 2016 ZX10R
Hickman is a bit of a beast isn't he.. and a really friendly character.
The good thing with the new ZX10R which will help the racers is that it is more of a 'tick' than a 'tock' bike. Unlike the R1 where it took an age for people to get used to it, the ZX10R should be ready to go after a few tests

Re: 2016 ZX10R
Quite possibly.. If you go back through the history of bikes the Tick is almost always the better bike...Blade wrote:Maybe that's where I've gone wrong always gone for tock bikes and missed out on the tick ones
ZX6R 03 - Tock - not highly rated
ZX6R 05 - Tick - very highly rated
ZX6R 07 - Tock - slated when it came out
ZX6R 09 - Tick - best rated ZX6R
R6 - 04 - Tock - mediocre in the reviews
R6 - 06 - Tick - best rated R6 by a country mile.
Same with Ducati and the 1098 / 1198 and the 1199 / 1299.
Don't get me wrong, they're still a very capable bike but the Tick always ends up being the bike the Tock should have been

Re: 2016 ZX10R
Tick Tock like the clock but in reality it's tock-tick (tock being bigger than tick)..
Essentially they make big changes (tock), then update the changes to make them work (tick)

Purely the sound of the word.
It was used to explain Intel's processors and they had a nice concise way of wording the explanation that's stuck with me - excluding the explanation.
