I've always bought Oxford optimisers for the bikes and they sit on their 'umbilicals' while they are in garage and I wanted something for the Jag which sits in the other side of the garage when not in use.

As the Jag has a couple of battery's (one for start/stop Eco mode and one for normal operation, I needed something a bit more advanced and CTEK have a very good reputation and can cope with differing batteries and battery management systems, I plumbed for a ctek mxs 5.0.

I paid £60.00 for it which I think is very good considering some bike only ones from other manufacturers as more than that.

You can get smaller versions that will just serve bike batteries but this one will do any battery up to 110ah and has modes for cars, bikes and egm batteries (on most modern start/stop cars). Most bike optimisers will only deal with charging batteries over a period of time.

The most impressive aspect of these things though is that it will recondition and de sulphate batteries and is far more advanced than most trickle charger / battery conditioners. What I like about the mxs 5.0 is that I can use on any of the vehicles, but the smaller ones are just as good for bikes. They come with crocodile clips and also a loom you can fit onto the battery with a waterproof plug for regularly connecting.

Highly recommended if your in the market for a bike or car battery conditioner etc.

My chemistry teacher at school had hairy arm pits and she moved to France so it must be true.
