Probably, but it will be interesting to see how fast it laps and what distance they can do at race pace..Kwacky wrote:Looks good but it'll sound shit
Whether we like it or not, it seems the government has decided electric is the future.

It isn't quite that straightforward though is it? By 2040 its estimated the number of vehicles on the road will be double what it is today. There isn't enough oil left to feed all those cars.D6Nutz wrote:Probably, but it will be interesting to see how fast it laps and what distance they can do at race pace..Kwacky wrote:Looks good but it'll sound shit

We are in the golden age of the internal combustion engine. Development has arguably peaked.
Make the most of it guys. Time to live out all your petrol head fantasises and ticket off the bucket list as we only get one shot at this game

That's based on current increases in road traffic. We're getting close to saturation point on our roads, people will start to realise that there are other ways to get about other than spending so much of your time in traffic.duke63 wrote:

As we've discussed before, people getting into driving is on the decline. Insurance is getting prohibitive for young drivers, the increase in uninsured vehicles on the road and the rise in vehicle thefts is making people wary of vehicle use and ownership. Kids are more than happy to have meetings over the phone or use uber to get them about. Delivery companies will bring petty much anything to your door now so there's less of a need to pop to the shops.
I reckon in 10 years time the roads will start to see a drop off in traffic.

I'm struggling to get my son to take his driving test, even with his interest in the racing side of things.
He just doesn't have a need for it currently at his time in life.

Without a shadow of doubt, the best thing the Government could do is make all major towns and cities a no-drive zone for anything other than electric vehicles. It would transform living and quality of life in those places.

There also aren't enough dinosaur remains to fuel the power stations that can barely produce enough electricity to power the houses we have.duke63 wrote:It isn't quite that straightforward though is it? We are building houses like nothing else and just tacking them on the edge of the existing infrastructure, how is the system supposed to core with a few million cars being plugged into fast charge?
I'm not saying we don't have to change, but there is more that has to change than a government policy.

They're too scared to do that, so what they'll do is force us to own electric vehicles.

To be honest it's refreshing to hear traffic will reduce and the younger generation are looking at transport differently.

If my wife could afford an electric car for the cost of her Fiat 500 petrol, we would have one without a doubt. They are perfect for commuting.Kwacky wrote:duke63 wrote:Without a shadow of doubt, the best thing the Government could do is make all major towns and cities a no-drive zone for anything other than electric vehicles. Electricity can be made for free. If only the world was sensible enough to share across borders. Those with too much heat can share with those who have too much cold and vice versa. Those with too much water could share with those who have little.
Its the only way the world will survive and prosper.

We've destroyed 60% of the world's biodiversity, there's no way we're going to start sharing things any time soon.

Re: Moto-E bikes unveiled.
I ma looking forward to see this race series in 2019, especially as weight has always been a problem so be interesting to see how they fair in a race scenario.
Key is gunna be them attracting good riders to ensure the series has good racing
