Cheers Deegee. I will try this. Thank you for your help. Jeez I bloody hope I dont have that.

If you do find you’ve got a leaky injector, use a strong dose of petrol injector cleaner in the tank on a fill up and go for a long thrash with lots of big throttle openings to hose any crap out of your fuel system and injectors.

You might just have picked up a tankful just after a delivery, all the sediment in the fuel station tank is stirred up and goes in your tank, it doesn’t normally cause an issue as your fuel filter catches it, but microscopic particles can get through as can water, the clearances in injectors are very small indeed, it doesn’t take much to cause a problem.

Fingers crossed it’s just a level issue and nothing serious. (y)

Judging by the rhythmic vibration this morning I've got a stiff link on the Versys.

I'll see if I can work it out. If not, new chain time.

I really need to start fitting my own chains.

Yesterday I had a cold ride to Whitby, must jave been a gothic event on as they were everywhere and some even looked nice.

230 miles and i was glad that i haven't removed the hand guards yet... Heated seat was also nice.

Decided to come up through pangebourne this morning and cut out half the dual carriageway.

I got a chain splitting and rivet tool. Piece of piss. Just need big spanners to give a lot of leverage.

Also, make sure you torque up the front sprocket proper. And not just a "that's got to be good enough".

When it comes off at 60mph and bounces round in the sprocket cover, it causes a bit of a mess *(new carbon sprocket cover time).

It's a Kawasaki. It will need a 6 foot piece of scaff bar to get the front sprocket off. I've never known one to come off easily.

Grind the head off the rivet before trying to push it out with the chain splitter, i got mine cheap because someone had snapped the pin off inside it by not grinding the rivet.

For the front nut you need an impact gun, mine is great for that kind of thing.

So I need a chain splitter, a grinder, an impact gun, a new torque wrench and something else I've already forgotten?

Sod it, I'll go to the mechanic.

You'll need that washer that you hammer back over one side of the nut to stop it coming loose.
They save on sprocket covers, etc.

Popped the Versys on a paddock stand when I got home. Used loads of lube and got the pliers out to loosen the links. It's not perfect but it's helped ease the chain.

Had a proper laugh on the way home, was in a bit of a rush and was following a multi carving through the traffic.. always entertaining.. then another bike, no idea what, joined to our side from a slip road got up to running speed then popped a huge wheelie and promptly fecked off at speed.. (fubar) but (rock)
