Bomb at Old Trafford

Post by Kwacky »

I see the game was called off and a controlled explosion carried out.

I wonder if it was the real thing or the police being cautious?

Prolly too early for them to release any details....there's a protocol involved with this stuff....like anything, I suppose.

A controlled explosion could indicate several things.....a cautionary move, or the Bomb Squad trying to simply disable a bomb by er...blowing up the triggering mechanism. Think of Red Adair putting out an oil-well fire with a bomb and you get the idea.

"Not a viable device" if the latest.

Funny if it's some shopping.

Haha! Well....it wouldn't be a drill, you can count that one out for certain, they just don't do it that way...not on a game day.

Probably IS something as simple as shopping....or some Chinese food with a 'wire' (noodle) sticking out.

The truth is funnier than that.

Turns out a security company did a training exercise last week.

The fake bomb was left behind after that exercise.
