Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
Met up with my observer and had a great social ride to the Waterfront cafe and had some cake and hot choc. Through the bitterly cold wind and pretty hard rain. I have now come to the conclusion I need a new front tyre, currently got Pilot Powers - rear was changed for 2015 fest but front now had a minimum of 7k miles. Still legal due to tread depth but grip is now being affected in the rainy wet weather.
Took some different roads on way to waterfront cafe have no idea where but they were brilliant. After cafe took the more direct route home through Henley all in all around 80 mile odd. Pretty good going for a couple hours blast!

It was light for most of the journey into work which makes like a bit easier.

The baby's full name is actually "Millenium Dodo", from a song. But obvs, it's a joke on the famous Star Wars ship ("what a piece of junk!") only, you know, not as good ("ride with a limp").
Rosa is because "Rosa the R1" and my Kwak at the time was called Katy, or Katalina, so it became Katalina and Rosalita. The VFR800 was Hannah because she felt like a Hannah and my ex named the VFR1200 "Helga", which I changed soon after we broke up to "Rhonda". Because I'm spiteful like that.
The new one, I'm thinking Vanessa or Veronica, because it's a big V.
But we're investigating that together.

I've never named any of my bikes. I'm not one of those people who call it "she" either.

Very windy ride home. No filtering on the motorway for me.

Fair enough. I just hear that quite a lot and tbh, anthropomorphisation is considered a fairly common human trait. So I don't feel TOO weird.D6 wrote:Dont get me wrong. Not having a dig. I'm enjoying these lighter mornings, it makes me think we're seeing the back of winter.
Watch it snow throughout March now I've said that.

Cleaned it...seriously needed it..I put a hose on it and mud came falling down. Also found the front wheel not rolling correctly before washing...again cleaned it and found mud and gunk all in them...wheel now rolls lovely!!

Looking at textile cleaners to use when I wash my textiles. The recent damp weather and high levels of road crud have left them smelling a bit musty.
Given the stupid prices of these products I might stick with normal washing machine liquid.

asked a fat twot in a ford if he was too poor to afford hands free. He took offence and tried to chase me.
