Dress down Fridays

Post by Kwacky »

Does anyone else have this at work?

We do and I'm struggling to see the purpose. It's a work day. It doesn't make the day any different.

It's a PITA for me as I have to put my clothes in my rucksack to take them into work. At least I've got suits and ties and shoes here at work for the other 4 days.

Just dont do it. We don't have it, but our dress is reasonably relaxed anyway.

Most places in the city nowadays have a dress down policy for a friday - men are usually constricted to chinos/smart jeans, no trainers, collared t-shirts/shirts. Whereas women seem to be able to wear what they want.

I am sitting at my desk in full suit & tie (NOT short sleeve shirt 8-| :x ) as I too dont really see the point of the dress down. Why add complications of what to wear on a friday to my week.

My office (ex office) had dress down Fridays when I 1st started which then changed to just no uniform ever, worked well for me as just meant I'd wear dragging jeans so didn't have to change from my bike gear

We don't have that at work but retail is different I suppose, it's a bit more laid back for us in the lab on a Sunday and if I commute to work in my jeans I'll leave them on for the day but in the week it's trousers and a polo shirt we wear plus I normally wear a suit jacket if I go on the shop floor.
I get knocked down but i get up again.

Not for me, but that's kind of a given being in the forces.
We do have to wear our MTP stuff(camo) on a Wednesday for some reason, which despite being all booted up I find comfier.

But I wouldn't be fussed about dress down days, we have to wear overalls or dustcoats, and safety footwear at work either way so it wouldn't really make much of a difference.

We are casual at work but it wouldn't bother me if it we did have it, in fact if I was suited up all week I would welcome the change.

My current client has dress down Friday. I conform as it saves me (or Mrs nutz) ironing a shirt..

Personally I couldn't care less, I'm as happy in a suit as a pair of jeans. My dress sense isn't what I get paid for.

And that's a good job too...

I just wear prison orange overalls everyday....but I do get to accessorise with safety boots, hardhat, earmuffs, safety glasses and gloves.
