Twit of the day
goes to the woman who pulled out in front of me at a roundabout, struggled with the concept of road markings, drifted into another lane, realised she was about to hit a car and then slammed her brakes on in the middle of a busy 3 lane roundabout

Bloke at the petrol station who parked behind me and waited for me to fill up and pay, despite there being 2 other pumps available.

Vegan money????? Alright....clue me in, please.
Oh.....and people who take advantage of the generosity of others. I don't mind helping anyone out. Once. If they come to 'expect' it then I shut down pretty quick.....especially if they get an attitude......"But, you did it last time???"

Re: Twit of the day
The real twit of the day is me.. Travelled 30 miles before realising I left my wallet at home which I needed to get across the Severn Bridge then on my return with my wallet I spilled coffee down myself as I hit a bump on the motorway.
Anyway.. I was on the slip road and infront of me was a guy in a BMW with a baby seat in the back. He was speeding up approaching a little slalom as you join a dual carriageway at which point I decided I'd join in the fun and followed him through at speed. As we join the dual carriageway he slams his brakes on causing them to flash (that's how hard he braked). He started signalling profanities at me at which point I waved my hand signalling for him to continue. He brake tested me a further 2 times before I changed lane and pulled alongside him pointing to his child seat and waving my finger to say don't do that.
After this I pulled in behind him where he brake tests me again then hold up his bent finger to me. Initially I had no idea what it was for and I was genuinely laughing me ass off. He continued and got very pissed off with me for finding it so funny.
Nothing happened after that except I was crying from laughing so hard. I realise now he thought I had a small pee-pee

Re: Twit of the day
I was a better twit Cav
I just managed to punch myself in the bollocks.
There was a job to do on one of the freefall lifeboats and they are behind a barrier gate. Said gate has a bolt and hasp arrangement to keep it closed but is at crotch height. It was a bit sticky and I gave it a good hard pull, the bolt slipped right out in a hurry and the only thing stopping my hand was my groin. Sat me on my ar$e for a good 5 minutes!

That's the truth though....when you can laugh about yourself. Too many people go into a rage over stuff like that. Re: Twit of the day
Think I take the crown today...
So, I heard the missus flapping in the kitchen. Ran through to find her unable to stop the microwave by opening the door. I switch it off at the plug, back on again, still going, off it goes again.
The door button has been sticking for a while. It now seems to have given up the ghost. So, as a technician I assess the best options to overcome this particular problem, using all known methods, equipment & reasoning.
However as a Yorkshire lad born in the 70s and growing up in the 80s, if my father taught me anything it's that if something mechanical isn't working it will sort itself out if you give it a good whack.
I can look at it two ways.
Technician version: Technology has moved on and cannot be solved by implementing violence
Yorkshire version: They don't build them like they used to.
As I pick the glass out of my hand I'll ponder...

Re: Twit of the day
In my opinion you applied sound logic and reasoning to the problem. You tried a power cycle which failed so resorted to the proven method of a calibrated tap. Personally I think you've solved the problem quite well.
The door release is unreliable so you have opened the window to improve access.
Its nice to see the "Calibrated Tap" is still an effective mechanical engineering skill . Works every time
