Has anybody got the Dainese boots that go under their leathers ? Thoughts and comments about them please ? Are all of their boots designed to go under the leathers ?
I am on my 2nd pair of boots that I am embarrassed to say dont really fit me even though they are stonking quality,I have hobbit legs and feet and cant get boots to go round my calfs and do up properly. Last night my boot nearly fell off when I was riding and im going to smash my legs up if I have a crash.Any other makes out there that would go round a wide calf and do up properly ?
So far ive tried Alpine Stars and Axo but not spending any more money on something unless its a snug fit that wont fall off
Dainese do IN and OUT boots of the same model. So for example you can get an Axial Pro IN or OUT boot.
I have the Dainese Axial Pro IN boots which go under my leathers. They are super comfy with an inner carbon shoe and internal speed lacing. There like armour plated slippers and IMO look super cool under your leathers.
There the same boot Rossi wears and if there good enough for him there good enough for me.
They do cheaper model IN boots but the Axial Pro is the only boot in the Dainese range which is still hand made in Italy and the quality shows.
Get down to a retailers and give them a try is the best advice as like you suggest boot fitment can be very individual.
Tried the Dainese and my leathers caught on the peg, necessitating a triple somersault dismount to stop the bike from falling over....plus, I couldn't zip my leathers properly...so I think you have to get the whole shebang.
That said....they were SUPER comfortable....way better than A-Stars...not that A-Star were bad by any stretch, and defo saved by ankle in a driveway 'leaning incident'.
Yep....them's the ones...you can see the zipper-tap thing in the pic. Weird to put on at first....and I seem to recall that there was some issue with them not being track-legal here, not 100% sure, but seems to ring a bell....I know that the subject came up.
Zip at the back of the outer boot and a pull cord speed lace arrangement for the inner boot. Hard to explain but that's all on the IN boot if that makes sense as it has an inner and outer arrangement.
Hard to explain your probably best trying them on but I find them a superb fit and they feel very robust although no personal crash testing. If you Google it I think there is some post crash reports done by dainese on a pair of Pol Espargaro boot.
If you read the next edition of South East Bike Magazine which will be available in about 4 weeks, I explain why as a result of case studies, experience and development that I am involved in, you do not really want leathers over the top of boots on the road.
Fine on track, not a good idea for road riding for a whole number of reasons.
It is better to arrive 30 seconds late in this world than 30 years early in the next
[quote="duke63"]Check you are comparing like with like, Perkles. I can't see any Axial Pros for that price on Motocard. https://www.motocard.com/en/boots/daine ... black.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
