Think I'm doing the chain and sprockets on the zx10r anyone know of any deals or decent places to by from. Want to alter the sizes on the sprockets and the chain is original so I think its best to change the lot.

I have an AFAM rear sprocket made of Aluminium which seems to wear just as good as any steel sprockets I've used before...

Renthal seem to be readily available in many sizes too, especially for front sprocket.

As for chains, I always use a DID XW-ring chain... by far the best chain I've ever used and they take thousands of miles of abuse plus trackdays in their stride. Typically pay about £120 all in, never paid much more or less

I use tsubaki chains which seem to last really well.

I use DID chains, if it's good enough for a bike to come with them as standard then I don't see the need of changing brands!

I got told DID used to be the best when they were made in the DID factory in Japan but since they subcontracted the manufacturing out the quality had dropped off.

Not sure how true just what I heard.

I was warned off DID a few years ago, but by all accounts they took on board the criticism and they're not back to being high quality

The issue I'm told is that they were failing in races due to the change in quality of the chains.

I didn't know this. I've had DID a few times on bikes and they haven't failed me yet. However I think the Daytona was a different brand and that was just for the track so maybe he was told the same things?
