I did a one hour bodypump class. It's like circuit training with weights. What a killer.

I found out that my fitness is pretty good, I've got fast muscle recovery but my muscle endurance is poor. You do over a thousand reps in the hour and your entire body gets a work out.

I'm battered.

Ran home from work yesterday and cycled in this morning. About 7 miles each way, I'm proper tired tonight.

Picked up my sparring equipment this evening at Taekwondo, which means I can get my head kicked in now.

My abs work out worked. I got cramps and had to roll off the bench on to the floor. Not pretty

Near enough 4 weeks into my re-emergence into the world of gym.

I'm loving being back in there. Not loving the reduction in weight for most activities, but I have to start somewhere.

Current squat max is 100kg. (Barbell squat, ATG)

Current deadlift max is 150kg (using straps and a weightlifting belt for a bit of support)

Current bench press is well down from before, but given the shoulder that's to be expected. Haven't had a chance/partner to try a max effort but todays chest session saw me topping out at 85kg for 3 reps.

I'll decide on some target goals later, but I think it'll be focussing on strength more than anything.

At first, anyway!

Getting back into it tomorrow with the Monday easy run. This week is a 5 mile cross-country route, should be fun after all the rain tomorrow.

That was good fun. Bought a new pair of tail trainers today and in bloody glass I did.

Also found the perfect Tankslap running race..

10 miles on Thursday, and another 10 miles this morning..

Think in starting to get the hang of this running thing.

Busy well planned now. 5 mile recovery run tomorrow, then the full 13 mile half marathon course on Thursday after work. That's going to hurt..

4 weeks today until Basingstoke half marathon.

13.2 miles of the Basingstoke half marathon course yesterday after work. Completed in 2:17, pretty good for a training run (happy)

Fecking knackered this morning.

Just over 8 miles last night.

Shocked at having to turn the her torch on at half seven and it being pitch black when we finished.

It's also still seems a but odd that running 8 miles after a days work is becoming normal and relatively easy.

You've put in a lot of hard work mate and it's paid off. 8 mile being normal and relatively easy is a huge achievement!!!

I really should get my running shoes back on one day!

I tried "Power Cleans" on Thursday. Never done it before but the programme I'm doing called for 5 sets of 3 reps.

40kg - no probs
50kg - likewise
60kg - ok, bit more effort required
60kg - think i got this
70kg - 2 reps. Couldn't get the other one up.

Need to work on technique as it's not as simple as other exercises. It's definitely a good exercise though, I'm still feeling it in my abs of all places!
