Re: What are you doing today ??
Into my last week in quarantine, which also means I’m within a week of getting home!!
This trip through quarantine, even though it’s been the most restrictive one yet (other than my hotel stint last year) I’ve been managing quite well. I’ve got a resistance band and doing workouts with that and 20 mins of stair climbs (3 stairs) on my balcony every second day. Each morning I’ve been FaceTiming the kids and helping out with home schooling for an hour or two. Also relearnt all my rubix cube algorithms and am back down to sub 1 minute. Enjoying the weather, mid 30’s but we are getting a good breeze as well and it’s the dry season so the humidity isn’t too bad.
Food is 500% better than other trips (new supplier) so it feels a bit like I’m doing a intensive health camp
Really trying to hold onto my mindfulness and if I feel myself start to slip I put some heavy metal on the headphones and do more stairs till im distracted again.

Fair play to you mate. I don't think I would live past 3 days of quarantine with my headspace from a week ago!

Over did my sun exposure on the balcony, you’d think for someone that has had 2 skin cancers cut out of me I’d be a bit cleverer. Just hard sitting inside all day when the balcony is in full sun but it’s your only outdoor space.

I've finally left Virgin Media.. I paid that £1.33 they lowered the bill to and they've "allowed me" to leave.

Today I am going to be STILL writing a letter to my birth-mother. I'm not very good at this... n

Perhaps, instead of overthinking it, you should make your first letter fairly brief & light.?
I'm guessing that you probably have a lot you want to include (understandably). However I would also guess that a letter that covered all that may well be intimidating to receive, and thereby adversely affect the chances of her wishing to pursue communication.
Light, positive and inviting perhaps, everything else can then be included gradually in subsequent letters.??
imho, anyway..

Thanks..... I'm making headway with it. She'd written me a REALLY long letter a few months back, so I'm trying to respond in kind. Another page or so & I'll call it quits. It's my project for this morning.... get it done & get it in the post.

Re: What are you doing today ??
I hope things can work themselves out mate.
I am surprised with the current outcome of my Dad writing to me in January.. currently I'm getting on better with him than my mum who had been doing great. 7 weeks before she let herself down. I brought it up with her the following day and she refused to acknowledge what she had done.
I guess my point is everyone can surprise you at some time.
Good luck mate

Struggling to stay awake. No idea why I'm so tired.
I've got a shit load of work to do this week as well with a few nasty deadlines I can't deal with until the clients come back to me.

Re: What are you doing today ??
After some bike tinkering, shopping.
Might go and see if J&S still have that mothership in stock (GS Adventure Triple Black)
Things are moving slowly forwards on the job front and I'm hopeful for my future for the first time in a while hence the renewed interest on the GS, I tested one years ago and it's been sat at the back of my mind as a bike I would love but beyond my means ever since... I now have my HGV theory test booked for next month.

HGV test?
I know the GS Adventure is a big bike, but I didn't know they were THAT big.
Respect.

Re: What are you doing today ??
Nah it's a good time to swap a bus for a HGV, the haulage industry is very short of driver's at the moment and offering much better pay than the bus industry, a couple of friends are lorry driver's and either could get me a job the day I pass my test.
I'm already used to a large/heavy vehicle with air brakes so it shouldn't be too hard to make the switch.

Woke up in my own bed next to my girl after the best sleep I’ve had in weeks
Made us coffees and had a lazy breakfast
Going away definitely makes you appreciate what you have to come home too.
