Re: The cycling thread
Good news for me, they open the Cycle Scheme up for a few days each month so I'll likely get something this month (had to check, yes, it is May now).
I'm still going to look at repairing my MTB and change the gearing for something more suitable for road riding. Unfortunately 46/30 is really expensive!

Re: The cycling thread
Is says the bottom bracket is threaded.. until now I've only seen tapered ones. Is this going to be a drawback?

Re: The cycling thread
You said about Focus and Look before but they don't appear on my radar with the sites that use CycleScheme. I did email local shops which sell them but they haven't gotten back to me.
Noted about Orbea.
So far I can't find anything 'wrong' with that Pinnacle so it's probably the one I'll go with. It's a bargain which has me worried.

Re: The cycling thread
Perfect! I just realised it isn't a complete 105 groupset as the chainrings are Prowheel. It's £125 to upgrade to 105 chainrings but it's not something I imagine I will need.

Quick recovery ride after yesterday's hills session (running)
Bike feels a lot better now it's better setup for me. Hills still suck.

Re: The cycling thread
Looks good. 6000-series aluminium will you a firm ride without making you sterile in the process. 105-level kit can be upgraded as & when you feel like it.
Good choice, Lance.

Re: The cycling thread
I've watched that cheap vs super bike and also the mid range vs superbike video.
The bikes I'm looking at are comparable to their mid range choice and I was hearing a lot of good stuff in their videos!

Lance Armstrong....famous US cyclist who won 7 Tour De France Championships (or something like that?).
And then was even more famously stripped of ALL his titles when it was discovered that he had cheated on at least a few of them (if not all) by means of "doping"...EPO injections, etc.
I think a couple of his team-mates ratted him out as well, at which point Lance decided that if he was going to go down, he'd take as many down with him as he could.
Very sorry chapter in what has always been a "fringe sport" at best, and it really hasn't been taken too seriously since then.
