Neat little gadget for spraying the chain without overspray. Was wondering whether it might be easy to make on of these since they have to come from the USA.

$5.00 to sedn to the UK so ordered one anyway. Spraying the Multi chain is a pain in the arse as so much of it is covered by plastic.

Looks like a good idea...but also looks very cheap and nothing that stands out...certainly is a trade type gadget but I bet if they did it in colours and made it look athestecially pleasing I bet a lot of people would love one!

There's the Kettenmax chain cleaner and lube system.

to be honest I found them as messy as using just a brush and Card when I used them on my old Daytona.

The instructions on my Würth lube say to spay from the left and right ie aiming for the sides of the chain whereas that one in the video seems to spray mainly from above. I think I'm going to invest in a Scotoiler for my next bike. Does anyone use them?

I tried one and didn't like it. You still need to clean the chain and I seemed to spend ages trying to get it set up right so it wasn't flinging oil all over the place.

I'll give it a miss then thanks.

I have one, works really well for me.
Kwacky's right, it can take quite a lot of time, effort & ingenuity to make a tidy job of installing it.
Yes you still need to clean your chain, but you just do that when you clean your bike anyway. On a positive, fling spatter becomes a thing of the past, & the constant lubrication (as opposed to the usual fluctuation between too much & too little) apparently reduces wear considerably.

Won't be making it unfortunately as it's a bit far for me. It's on my list though to sort out a bike trailer of some sort so I can venture a bit further for trackdays. Thanks though. Out of interest how often roughly does each refill of the Scotoiler last before having to refill again?

Sorry to hear that mate. Obviously the scotoiler reservoir refills are dependent on mileage & the setting you have it set to.
It drops about a drip a min' & I top mine up about every 1000 miles.

drop oil on both sides of the chain. Here is a picture of my scotoiler at the rear sprocket.:



The chain looks like that all the time. It is never "wet" nor "dry", just ever so slightly greasy looking.

That picture is a pretty good review. The chain's the cleanest thing there
Kind of similar to mine: I prefer to ride than clean!
