Great program. Mainly for the Vulcan, not too bothered about guy these days. What a machine. So very sad they can't fly again. I didn't realise there were others that could fly if allowed.

Didn't manage to see the program but I have been lucky enough to watch it fly with my own eyes, it unbelievable how big it is, it's like a hole house just manoeuvring up in the sky. lovely machine

I was lucky enough be at the last public 4 ship scramble at Finingley in 1982
They had them all sat on the runway with their engines running and the pilots were driven down the runway in light weight land rovers. The sound was indescribable, the ground shook and you could actually feel it in your feet when they all took off at the same time!

It was, I was only 10 and can remember every detail so must of had quite an effect on me.
Air shows were really good in those days, not long after the Vulcans departed a GE Lightning flue down the runway at about 50 feet. Went vertical right in front of the crowds and hit the sound barrier just as it disappeared into a cloud directly overhead.

Years ago when nowt but a youngster we used to live in Swindon. Filton is not far from there and that's where Concorde was developed and its test flights were made from.
I can still remember one day as it flew low overhead and all the windows in the house shook, you could physically see them move and the noise was quite deafening.
