Re: What are you doing today ??
Half day at work this morning.
This afternoon........
Dropped off the smart at we buy any car, 20 mins and money on the way to the bank.
Back home for James parents "evening", first positive one in a while. Bloody child did decide to kick off today and get his first ever detention..
After that went to pickup the mini. I'm actually quite impressed so far, it's quite a nice drive. Birth of fire tomorrow as I'm off to Sheffield in it.

Re: What are you doing today ??
I will be training around Sheffield in the morning since my test has been boked there, I will try to resist the urge to wave at red mini convertibles
Today went well, 2 of us and the instructor in the vehicle and a marked difference in the chat, the other guy drives a van and the instructor was giving him lots of instruction, mostly trying to get him up to speed and to slow down for corners.
For me it was very quiet, 90% directions with the occasional reminder about the blind spot mirrors (The buses at my depot don't have those so I wasn't using them) and letting it go overspeed down hills once or twice , the 5 tons of water made it harder to prevent than I anticipated... 6am start tomorrow

Re: What are you doing today ??
I didn't notice you, but if you did see a 7.5 tonner with Hughes Driver Training on it, that was me.
Only a short lesson today, my instructor took me out alone then got me back to base by 11 to swap to the other guy who has his test today.
He said I was more than ready for my test at 08:40 tomorrow and I just need to make my mirror checks more obvious and slow down a bit more for traffic lights, even going through on Amber can be a fail... I'm feeling relaxed about it. Another 6am start in Leeds though.
And just slapped the winter wheels on the car, not that I'm precious about the normal ones but it was a little slippery at 5am and these have Continental winter rubber.

Out in the city for 3 nights kid free. Weather is absolutely shite (50mm rain today) but still having plenty of fun.

Good works outing again last night. Pretty decent hangover this morning. Having drained the vending machine of tea and eaten almost everything in sight, made the 3 hour journey home.

Re: What are you doing today ??
Early start, good walk, photos.... taking in the fresh bloody cold air. Back to the car, could not get in, key fob would not unlock it.... now cold and pissed off. just walked 10 miles needed a warm up.
Called services, explained situation, "do you have the app on your phone" yes i do, but when you had the car in for a recall, you must have deleted everything as it now does not recognise the car! Anyway help will arrive in a few hours.... Arghh, now where close that sells batteries for the Fob.
Found a local shop, had a machine for Hot Choc, so spent an hour or so in there. then decided i would stretch my legs, on the off chance walking past the car, tried the fob, It bloody worked !!!! ARE YOU Fecking KIDDING ME.... drove home, called services told them the cancel it.

Warming the fob up in your pocket for a bit can help as it gives the batteries a bit more life maybe?

Attempting to stay awake.. although it's made easier by listening to several heated Team meetings this morning.

Re: What are you doing today ??
I'm getting frustrated with my inability and inadequate (non-existent) training relating to Flow Simulation.
Unfortunately, people whom don't understand Flow Simulation are all too happy to take the results as gospel so I then need to tell them that the results aren't correct although I can't tell them why that is or how I know besides, "I have no confidence in the results".
I'll be stopping at Matalan on the way home for a gift to the Wife from our Son though.. lovely little outfit proclaiming his love for his mummy.

Re: What are you doing today ??
I went for a windy bike ride at lunch to grab some lunch. It was only windy when I left. Then it started raining, and the wind picked up. It hurt my face like hail and I was down to 3rd gear pedalling into the headwinds downhill. Kinda regret it
