Thruxton - out for an early morning mountains run, but cut short by a lovely policeman and a $935 licence losing fine. (See what did you do today thread)
GB - After my morning fiasco I was not keen to get on another bike today but had the guy that put a deposit down on the GB turning up to look at it. I met him down in the closest town as he’d already driven 1.5hrs and rather not have people I don’t know show up and see a garage full of bikes etc.
He ended up being a really nice young fella, and never ridden, but now wants too. Didn’t want a modern bike, wanted a bit of character. So he’s bought it. Dropping it down to him in two weeks. Money is already in my account.

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
Today I took it for a 100 mile run with a neighbour, down into the peak district with a quick coffee and photo stop near Castleton. we took flasks of coffee, good job too as everywhere out there with a car park was rammed full.
Overcast but fairly warm and nice dry roads, I'm starting to gel with this bike already, starting to trust it and it is easily able to keep that big GS in it's sights... Farkin loud though even with it's baffle in
At the moment I'm feeling it out and making a to-do list, it's coming up on a valve clearance service so I will add some jobs to that on my week off next month. But today it was just great to get out for a few hours with a good friend.

Started it, and warmed it up. Then took the kids to the park and let it cool back down.
Gave it a quick wash, realised the fuel was very low so popped out to fill it up.
I'd missed the popping and banging of the over run and the naughty little power wheelies

Fitted some new levers today and found a 10 mill socket attached to the old clutch lever. It’s been there for 4 years!

Got a Facebook blast from the past when a mate posted this photo. It's the lads I used to ride with best part of 15-16 years ago when I got my license.
That's also my old D6 in the picture. Good bike that one.

Rode it for a couple of hours at many different speeds and angles. Does help your head in these times.

Took it out after work, meet Frankie, then spanked the **** out of the bike on the way home.
It usually reckons 150+ miles per tank, I use over 1/2 a tank in 50 miles think I might have missed riding the bike a little.

Made the final payment for wheelie school next weekend
Just chatting to the guy, the biking season seems to be going well so far. He's had two call up so far and cancel as they've stacked their bikes and broken bones The weekend wobblers are going to be out, and in ditches, in mass numbers this year by the look of it.

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
I've seen a few posts about crashes on Facebook. There's going to be a lot of rusty bikers out this weekend, especially if the weather is nice.

I will be taking mine for a wobble at the weekend, already been out a couple of times and almost scrubbed the tyre's in so I should be okay.

Don't forget to apply tyre shine before you go out, it really makes a difference to the bike's appearance......Stonesie wrote:I will be taking mine for a wobble at the weekend, already been out a couple of times and almost scrubbed the tyre's in so I should be okay.

I've heard it makes them look great whilst the bike is upside down in a field
