What do you mean by full tc ? Least or most intervention? Setting 1 or 3 ?

So are you on tc setting 3 I.e. the one which comes in at the least amount of slip ? Therefore maximum intervention.

Yes the light on the dash flashes.

Put in full power and tc 3 then find a damp round about and watch the dash light up like a disco.

You can't feel the cut in power its very smooth and progressive. The only way you know its cut in is the light flashing on the dash.

Good test and gives you confidence in how effective the system is. No wonder it gets great reviews and is rumoured to be the best tc out there at the moment.

Does the solid lcd bar under the gear indicator show the TC is working?

Can't see all the video on my phone Duke.

One think I can tell is he has his dash in track mode not road mode which I haven't really used for obvious reasons.

In road mode a single light flashed on the right if I remember correctly.

I really gave my bikes some stick on saturday and couldnt get it to come on ,unless im missing something
or im probably really riding like a pussy :)

On topic i had a very good look at the r1 in the yamaha showroom,it is tiny it looked smaller than an r6 sitting next to it.I dont really like the look of it I think the zx10r looks far more agressive

Just read the handbook Duke, yes the sliding scale bat graph under the gear position indicator shows how much tc has been deployed. Mind you if your looking at that when drifting the rear your asking for trouble IMO. The yellow warning light also flickers on and off and it was this I saw out of the corner of my eye when deliberately trying to activate the tc.

To be honest I've not had a problem with bats when I've been riding so maybe the bat thing is nothing more than a gimmick?

Perkles I'm still unclear what you mean by full tc but if you have it on setting one you won't be riding liking a pussy as it, according to the manual allows "lengthy drifts and wheelies possible when exiting tight corners".

If you have on setting 3 it kicks in " early enough to prevent the rear wheel from spinning."

It was level 3 I got to kick in, in the wet when being kack handed on purpose with the throttle exiting damp roundabout

its on the most intrusive setting IE full ,as I say I got caught in a downpour on Saturday and I was riding like a twat ,its hard to look at the dash when your concentrating on whats ahead. All im saying is I would get confused by all the gimmicks the r1 has ,I like to just get on a bike and ride it

I reckon it will have cut in and you didn't notice mate, which is exactly how you want it IMO. Its extremely smooth and the only way I knew was the light flickering. Extremely good system IMO.

Yes the R1 aids are confusing.

Tbh I find the ten quite complex and in comparison its a very simple and user friendly interface.

R1 is selling like hot cakes and must be based on all the hype and reviews as you can't get a test ride anywhere.

I guess people just want the latest and greatest all the time, and nothing wrong in that if you have the coin.

Don't think the TT did Yamaha sales any good.

The general consensus after the initial hype seems to be that is that there are better litre sportsbikes for road use out there.
