Industrial hearing loss

I have just had a long chat with a cold caller ringing me saying he was from some no win no fee solicitor telling me that I had hearing loss. He wouldn't take no for an answer really and said I did. Anyway the upshot is that some fella is coming round to do a hearing test.
Apparently my number got passed along as someone who used to work in heavy industry
payouts from 2 k up to 12k
Sounds like a massive and dishonest scam. Is it for real? Anyone else heard of it??

They come round and rob you.
You'll probably never get them out the house until they take on some kind of claim.

A friend was telling me he had a similar call at home the other day...so he left the phone on top of the TV........for half an hour....and what with this being a mobile, the cold caller can't ring off until the mobile is disconnected.
After half an hour he goes back to the phone, picks it up and the cold caller says ' You fecking twat' and puts the phone down.
I must remember that trick.
