Both versions are 75W, but the HWM has a weight symbol. think I'll just get the standard when the time comes. The HWM just has an extra ply to make it stiffer.

It's Metzelers way of designating their Heavy Weight version of the Roadtec's. It's not something that's universal to motorcycle tyres.D41 wrote:A weight symbol???
I've never heard of that.

Thanks.....I wasn't sure if you were going to write something along those lines, or merely "that's about where you put the wheel weights"...

Any update on these?
I'll have to change mine soon. I don't know if I should stick with the Z8s which seem to suit the bike or try these out.

Got a screw in them on friday. I can confirm you can still ride them with 7psi. That was halfway home. Inflated to 42. And made it back.
Been really good and lasted close to 7000miles i think. Only commuting though.

You really don't have much luck with getting screws in your tyres D6!! Are you commuting through a hardware store??

That must be about the third in the last year or two?

I got a puncture in the rear tyre of my 50cc 4t scooter. Inflated it to about 50psi and in the 5 mile journey to the tyre place it went flat about 3 miles in! Absolute nightmare

How would you rate these tyres for fast road riding and cold/wet trackdays?

Re: New hoops. Metzeler Roadtec 01 Review
Cold and wet track days id say theyd be awesome. As ive only commuted i cant comment on fast dry roads. But i don't hang around and they were very good in dry. No supercorsa, but very good

Re: New hoops. Metzeler Roadtec 01 Review
You say "no supercorsa" but I found when I went to the Racetec K3 from a Dunlop Sportsmart I could tell there was loads more grip but I couldn't go any faster and I enjoyed the Dunlop more. I think I prefer a less sticky tyre in all honesty - the same goes on a trackday, I prefer to have the bike sliding controllable than to have so much grip I feel as if I'm just pootling around.
How much are these for a set?

Not cheap. 260 a pair ish. But the extra life i get and better performance makes it worth it.

Re: New hoops. Metzeler Roadtec 01 Review
I've asked Metzeler if they're going to do any special deals to celebrate them winning tyre of the year
Well, if you don't ask.

I've also asked Addison Tyres how much a pair of the 01s would be for the SX.

Re: New hoops. Metzeler Roadtec 01 Review
Apparently Metzeler have increased the prices on their tyres. I'm looking at about £300 for the 01s with ride in/ride out service.
I've asked about the PR4 as they seem to be popular.
