Baby Cav

Post by Cav »

I'm extremely pleased to announce the birth of my first child... a boy! We don't have a name for them yet. Baby weighed a lovely 8lb 13.

My Wife was brilliant although, since her waters broke this morning, it was clear to me that something wasn't quite right as she never got a full rest between contractions. She did incredibly well not to panic.

Baby was delivered by urgent c-section after my Wife's temperature was high and so was hers and baby's heart rate. It turned out that baby was back to back at the time the call was made but Mrs Cav had managed to get him round. Unfortunately, he got himself in a right tangle and so extracting him was a little harder than it should have been. 30 minutes with a doctor post-partum and we got our first family cuddle.

I don't know if I'll post photos or not yet.. that will be a decision for another day. For now, I'm loving watching my Son feed and sleep.

There's a lot to update but the latest is that mum is discharged and Baby is in NICU for ongoing monitoring of infection, jaundice and temperature. We are staying in with him but due to leave tomorrow after his last dose of antibiotics.

Great news mate. Sounds like a rough start for the three of you, fingers crossed that's all behind you now & you can look forward to all the fun bits ( i.e. sleepless nights, nappy changing etc,,, )
