So I'm looking at a camera body upgrade. I'm finding the AF a PITA, there are a few other things that annoy me as well like the low light capability and the FPS on burst mode. I knew the camera was an entry level, but a half decent lense got me started but now it's time to move up.

I've got my eye on a Canon EOS 7D II which is a massive jump up in specs for me. A question mainly for the enlightened, should I be worried about shutter count ?? I've found one which is in amazing condition but has a shutter count of about 90k, the camera is rated to 200k. Deal breaker or not ?

Pic just for attention.

90k isn’t much. There are some used bodies out there with much more being sold for £500-600.

Depending on the price you’ve seen, I’d go for it. They’re cracking cameras by the way - have had one for about 7/8 years now.

The one in looking at is about £650, but they'll give me a £100 trade in on my 1100D. I'm cool with the trade in price and the lenses are compatible as well.

Good to know you rate yours, if I get it it'll be a massive jump in spec and a whole new learning curve again.

(shocked) ok, half a million is a good effort ! I won't worry about 90k then..

How would you rate the camera overall ??? Anything standout or that pisses you off epically ??

Its a great bit of kit , I like the hdr function but don't get to use it often , imo for what I do it's the best you can get without spending 5k or more .

You’ll notice a nice difference in body size and feel. It’s a great feeling camera being a bit more bulky. Has built in flash which can be handy for those moments when you can’t be bothered with setting flash gun up.

The wifi option (needs a card - fits in SD card slot) is very useful for landscape/time lapse shots.

I really enjoy the time, I've always loved nature and just dawdling though woods and fields is great. Taking photos has just added another edge.

And so the addiction begins lol..... As well as motorbikes, i love getting out with my camera, was in London last week on a job, where I actually needed to take some work shots as well. Could not help myself, out on the street as well lol.... This was outside the V&A.

I love the way the colours of that phone box pop out in that photo Frankie.

The new camera arrived today. Also looking through the memory card to see if there are any photo's I'd not copied off that I want to keep. It's funny how a second look at a photo and a quick fiddle into lightroom turns it into something you like.

I'm starting to enjoy the new camera now. I can tell I've moved up a notch or two as you really have to pay attention to the settings on most shots, make a mistake and you loose the quality. Something I didn't have to worry about too much on the entry level camera.

This was really pushing my lense to the absolute limit.

Lunar eclipse here tonight. Got the Nikon out, jeez it’s an ancient beast now.

Not the best photo quality wise, but the best I could do tonight
